#China’s maritime militia reaches #IndianOcean with worrying consequences - In June 2019, #SriLanka allowed a Chinese fishing company to use Dikkowita harbour, north of Colombo to fish in international waters & also allowed them to fly the Sri Lankan flag southasiamonitor.org/news/china-s-m…
What better ruse could China seek? Why would Chinese vessels demand to fly the flag of another country? The company will soon deploy 20 x 150-feet long vessels equipped with sophisticated instruments.
Such activity, with Chinese trawlers equipped with satellite-based tracking systems, has implications for South India, Lakshadweep, the Maldives and even Seychelles, not only in terms of fishing, but covering the whole gamut of the Chinese concept of ‘unrestricted warfare’.

The island of #Ilisi is an hour away from #Kismayo and only local fishermen live there. It’s so clean & breathtaking. A perfect place for a day swim with the family. #Somalia
The catch of the day is not your ordinary fish, but lobsters 😍

Alarmism over the People’s Liberation Army Navy’s presence in the Indian Ocean is likely misplaced at the moment, but the rapid growth of Chinese naval forces could change things in the future, with Delhi and Paris teaming up in an anti-China front led by the United States.
The second phase of Varuna was conducted off Djibouti from May 22-25, the French Embassy in India revealed last week. The tiny African nation is home to a French base, as well as to China’s first and only overseas naval facility.

2/ #NATO, the UN, the WTO, the IMF, World Bank, and our trade agreements are mechanisms for us to have a say in what other countries do. They are tools of our power but they come at a cost.

We cannot just do whatever we want without consulting others and in some cases it costs $
3/ Our modern #empire is dependent upon the US Dollar and US military power. First let's talk about the $USD.

By FAR our most powerful tool, it is based on our political and economic stability. While even DJT can't destroy our economy, he is straining our political stability.
