Happy #InternationalChessDay! My friend Ervin Sindik reconstructed all my games from the 1992 blitz tournament in Mar del Plata, Argentina, most never published before. Here is one, vs GM Zarnicki. chesspastebin.com/view/22507
He reconstructed them from video, and here is a version of it with my interview. Long ago! Look at all that hair!
I won the first ten games against the best players and felt invincible going into the final round against an amateur. And you've heard about pride and falls! But that loss to De las Heras was of course preserved and published so I won't recount it here..

As a way to celebrate Chess today, the world governing body of chess @FIDE_chess ,is asking chess players to teach people who do not know how to play yet.
There's a general misconception about chess being a boring game reserved only for a few intellectuals.
This is not accurate😅,playing Chess is one of the most fascinating life experiences and this is why it has lived through several centuries and is still relevant to this day.

3/18 Image

ANTIQUITY OF #CHESS

During Mahabharata times, in 3100 BCE, i.e. 5000 years ago, this game was known as Ashta Pada. Ashta is eight and Pada means foot, steps. i.e. a game that was played on a board with 8x8 squares.
One of the earliest physical evidence of chess having been played in India more than 5000 years ago, comes from Dholavira, a Sindhu Sarasvati civilization city then and an archaeological site today. Dholavira is located in the present day state of Gujarat.
Dholavira was one of the major cities of those days, a manufacturing centre and a commercial hub, flourishing between 3500 BCE and 1500 BCE.
