Reisetag 1: Von Hamburg (beliebige deutsche Stadt einsetzen) nach Paris.
Los geht’s am Morgen im ICE bis Offenburg, von dort aus weiter mit der Regionalbahn über die Grenze. Von dort aus geht’s in 5 Stunden durch „Grand Est“ in die französische Hauptstadt.

Reisetag 2: Ganz Paris schläft. Ganz Paris? Nein, findige Interrail-Reisende nehmen um 5:46 Uhr am Morgen den Zug nach Le Havre. Dort bleibt eine knappe Stunde für ein französisches Frühstück, dann geht’s mit der Linie 13 für 1,80€ nach Étretat, zur Steilküste.

Et pour les curieux, le point le plus haut que vous voyez sur la carte c'est Narvik, la gare la plus au Nord de Norvège et d'Europe d'ailleurs !
Pour rejoindre Bodø, le point juste en-dessous à l'ouest, on prendra d'abord un bus pour rejoindre les îles Lofoten, puis un ferry !

Guten Morgen aus #Flensburg. Während ich schon eine kleine Odyssee hinter mir habe (Grund: „DB“) wird mir klar, dass ich noch 24 Stunden unterwegs sein werde 🥴 Der Zugreisende ist leider der Dumme. Erst Gefangener unausgegorener Fahrpläne, dann Bittsteller, wenn was schiefgeht.
Und in dem Moment, wo ich das schreibe, hat die @Interrail App wieder meinen Pass vergessen und mich bei der Fahrkartenkontrolle in eine unangenehme Situation gebracht. Ich bin es so leid 😖
Und nun: Passkontrolle in Padborg. Zum Glück muss ich mir den 8-Minuten-Umstieg in Fredericia heute nicht antun, ich habe etwas Zeit. Aber normal würde auch diese Fahrt ab sofort nur noch um den Anschluss bangend „genossen“ werden können.

In Oslo war es noch bewölkt, doch während der Fahrt ist es immer weiter aufgelockert. Mit einem Umstieg in Hamar ging es mit @vygruppen & SJ Nord nach Mittelnorwegen. Das bedeutete acht Stunden Zugfahrt entlang von wunderschönen Landschaften. 2/8
Trondheim zeigte sich auch sogleich von seiner schönster Seite. Mein Hotel lag gleich neben dem Bahnhof und bot Aussicht auf den Kanal. Nach einer kurzen Pause stand sogleich eine Abendrunde an. Ich ließ mich einfach ohne Ziel durch die Stadt treiben. So landete ich plötzlich 3/8
Zdravím mojich (zatiaľ) troch sledujúcich, ako aj náhodných návštevníkov profilu. Vítam vás pri #Interrail #Railtrip-e. Kedže počet dostupných dní je obmedzený, na štartovú pozíciu bol zvolený presun vzduchom.

Vďaka cenovej politike Finnairu nás cenová lotéria zaviala na krídla @lufthansa. Nakoľko priame spojenie u Lufthansy nenájdeme, prvú časť cesty do Mníchova absolvujeme na palube Embraeru 195E @_austrian, na dlhšiu cestu cez more nás čakal takmer zbrusu nový Airbus 321 Neo.

V rámci Helsínk je pevnosť Suomenlinma jednou z TOP pamiatok. Vďaka jej polohe na ostrove sú turisti odkázaní na kompy zaradené do siete MHD.
Hlavná linka č.19 jazdí preplnená v 20 minútovom intervale, "servisná" linka č.19E vás zvezie poloprázdna každú hodinu.

🚇🇪🇺 Llegamos a Donostia para coger nuestro segundo tren, internacional, por cierto. El Topo une Hendaya con Donostia puntualmente cada 30 minutos. Es a lo que aspiramos hasta la conexión en ancho internacional vía Ya Vasca.
🚇📆 No podíamos irnos de Donostia sin visitar la unidad de la serie 300 en colores "perlita" que euskotren tiene en exposición en Amara por el 40 aniversario de la compañía.

I've travelled a lot through Europe by rail in the last years, mainly with @Interrail tickets. My latest journey from Sweden to Spain and back has been an utter disaster, mainly due to how the #Interrail system is organised as a whole. Let me tell you why: (1/15)
Let's start where my journey started last week, in rural southern Sweden. A regional train that should have brought me to Copenhagen with a nice transit time of 20 minutes was cancelled out of the blue, which is why I missed ALL my following reservations that day and beyond (2)
@Interrail doesn't offer insurance plans for seat reservations on high-speed trains (like my TGV from Bonn to Paris or my SNCF from Paris to Barcelona, each costing over 25,-€). This money, together with all my hopes of catching my ferry to Mallorca (another 30,-€) was (3)
Heading around Europe @Interrail, Ist stop Brugge. Even more pleased that I’ve submitted a thesis draft for comment; there are gaps & some of it will need work, but the end feels closer; can ponder gaps while we #interrail #phdchat & hope to #takeabreakmakeabreakthrough 😎🚝 🇪🇺🙏
