A 🧵on #hiring especially for early stage #founders

Sell 👁️👁️
Sell the vision you have, if you can't sell your vision yourself, chances of hitting a home run is negligible, hiring talent/ selling to customers/ raising money is insanely difficult without this trait
Reach out📢
Reach out to the best people in your network, get them to work with you, convince them if you think they're a great fit.

Real eg. : Had to visit & meet parents of a potential content writer, as she had extraordinary skills, but her parents were against working.
Think of Candidates as #Customers, you've to sell them the vision 🔭 + Provide an #experience.

Experience here means - proper communication {Well written JD, what exactly are they expected to do, hours, skills reqd}, tell them how would they progress? how much can they make?

High stakes means people are on the lookout for anything bad.

And honestly, if you get vetoed by one interviewer, you probably didn't vibe with them. That may or may not be "your fault" but you CAN work on being positive and high-energy.

Let me do a quick thread on #interviews.
I've done hundreds of interviews, both as interviewer and interviewee, and most people grossly misunderstand how #interviews work.

First off, an interview is human interaction.
This seems obvious but the point is, it's not a neutral infodump. It's a vibe check.

What that means is a little more complicated, because people are complicated.

If you are awesome and they can pick up on it, great! Unless they're insecure, in which case it goes against you.

How many of you knew a Grand Jury was empaneled on the Clinton Foundation relating to Bill Clinton's pardoning of Mark Rich all the way back in 2001?

#TheMoreYouKnow #ThinkQ
cc: @POTUS…
Marc Rich did business with Iran! You can't make this stuff up! @therealroseanne it's in the documents!
Marc Rich paid/donated to both the DNC and the Clinton Foundation to get his pardon thus violating the FEC law(s). This is actually PAY TO PLAY!

They thought they would get by with this forever. But, the House of Cards came tumbling down!!! #ClintonCrimeFamily

Thread on #KashmirWalla.
It is high time to expose #KashmirWalla a #multimedia #weekly #magazine which proclaims to bring out unbiased views on #politics, #culture, #business and #literature but on contrary is biased towards sympathizers of terror ..
...They exploit emotions of #Kashmiri people by spreading #false #news based on #half-baked #truth and #spin doctored #statements. ImageImage
They are real enemies of #Kashmir as they are #misguiding the youth by #inciting them. They are radicalizing the #youth for picking up #guns and stones by painting false #narrative against #security forces and #govt of #kashmir Image

Do #qualitative interviews cause #distress when used for sensitive topics and/or in sensitive populations?
A thread (& case study with #cancer #survivors).
2/5 #Qualitative research is ideally suited to gain rich insights into human experience, including those with medical conditions and at-risk groups.

But, one #barrier to conducting #qualitative interviews is concern (often from physicians or IRB/ethics) of causing #distress
3/5 Yet, data on distress around #qualitative #interviews with medical pops is lacking.

In our new #PsychoOncologypaper, #AYA #cancersurvivors completed a validated distress screening tool before, after & 1 week after an interview on #fearofrecurrence…

It was lunch time in #Brazil on a Saturday in 1990 when I decided it was time to be born! I grew up in a large city in #SãoPaulo called #Guarulhos, which in Tupi (native language) means “eaters” or “big-bellied people”. Here’s the proof I am “Guarulhense”:

Our #family was not wealthy, but my parents made sure I had good #education, even if that meant sacrificing part of their own life. For that I will be forever #grateful. They made sure I learned how to #appreciate everything I had that money could not buy.

I loved learning about #science in school. Not only because it is #fascinating, but also because my biology teacher, Diógenes (@spock_alvo), had great #enthusiasm when teaching it! His motivation would #inspire me to fall in 💜 with the 🧠! #teachinggoals

@acrimed_info @arretsurimages #politique

A thread: How I prepared for a #tech role in #FAANG
1. Technical preparation of #python and #SQL
2. Behavioral and cultural screen with @Latesha_Byrd
3. Deep dive on department domain and current tools and techniques
Technical preparation included practicing @LeetCode and @CodeSignalCom for #SQL and #python. I started to time myself and also spoke out loud what I was doing and why to get familiar with #whiteboarding etiquette. I also had my friends mock interview me.
I also utilized @TeamBatcode for more #python practice with primitive #datastructures and #Algorithms. It was consistent practice while talking out loud. I probably worked through about 50-60 problems.

I've been thinking a lot about #SoftwareEngineering #interviews lately. Some random thoughts below 👇
Whiteboards rock, but we're doing it wrong. Instead of using one of the most powerful thinking tools to sketch and discuss architecture and systems, we're using it to write code 😅 It really sucks that such a great tool has such bad reputation.
If you need to study for the interview, look for another company. Information is widely available online, what you need to be good at is searching and using it, not remembering things by heart. Of course you need to know the basics and how things work, but not specific commands.

Some really important points to consider as a Residency Program if resident #interviews are virtual this year:

🔶Evaluate online presence of program, faculty, residents
🔶Find best practices for virtual interactions with residents & applicants

🔶Train faculty in virtual interview techniques
🔶Create a virtual tour of the campus
🔶Ensure a standard experience for applicants

What are other programs planning?
#MedTwitter #MedEd
@aoglasser @abbyCCim @AagaardEva @dcoscomd @AmyOxentenkoMD @FutureDocs @InduPartha
Another thought:
🔶Having short resident bios on program website including a sentence or 2 highlighting why the choose the program and what they most appreciate about it now

My previous threads on #qualitative #interviewing referred mainly to one-to-one, semi-structured interviews. Research interviews, however, can be conducted in more than one way. #1 @AcademicChatter #phdchat #QualitativeResearch
@AcademicChatter In this thread, some different ways to conduct interviews are discussed, so have a look and see whether a different format could help answer your research question better. #2
@AcademicChatter The social research literature categorises research interviews roughly into #structured, semi-structured, and unstructured interviews based on the degree of #planning or preparation from the interviewer’s side and the #leeway available for participants in their responses. #3

Born & raised in #Fanar #Lebanon, a tiny country in the middle east with a lot to offer. I always had a positive outlook on life maybe because of the culture or values🤷‍♀️.
If you don't know #Lebanon or a #lebanese then you should start mingling 🤣

I grew up surrounded by a loving, joking & tough type of family that always support each other even amidst fighting. You can imaging being 4 kids in different age groups can cause a lot of fights growing up 😂 #siblingsfight #family #VoicesIWS
I have my issues🤷‍♀️! I always wanted to prove myself & make my family proud(2nd child). A pressure that was just in my head; they were always proud of us. I wanted to grow up to be a doctor or an army officer like my dad. Let's just say I changed my mind! #VoicesIWS @IWS_Network
