Mahaprabhu Jagannath (Shri Krishna) is also known as the God of Kaliyuga. Jagganath Swami lives in Puri (Odisha), with his sister Subhadra & brother Balram, but the mystery is such that no one could know till date.

Every 12 years the statue of Mahaprabhu is changed, at that time the entire city is blackout, that means the lights of the whole city are switched off, after the lights are off. There is darkness inside the temple. Eyes of the priest are tied with a strip.

1/ Aswini Mishra, an engineer from Brajrajnagar, Odisha, used his skills to develop brakes for the majestic chariots back in 2006, to make the chariots safe.

2/ After reading about a tragic death of a devotee, Mishra came up with a brake system that can stop the contraption in case of any incidence, which also increases ease of use. He showcased his brake system to the temple administration, which accepted it with open arms.

3/ The brake system used earlier consisted of a wooden log that sat in front of the Ratha's wheels. Applying the brakes meant pulling a lever so the log would stop the wheels in motion.

This was found to be very ineffective

🚩 The chariots of the deities are newly built every year -3 chariots to 3 deities. The central chariot 'Nandighosha' carries Bhagwan Jagannath, 2nd chariot called Taladhwaja carries Lord Balabhadra, & 3rd chariot called Darpadalana carries Ma Subhadra 🚩2

🚩 The deities remain in the chariots on the 1st day & enter the Gundicha Temple on the 2nd day & reside there for 7 days. Gundicha Temple - the home of Jagannath's aunt, who loves to welcome her nephews every year to pamper them with love & affection 🚩3
