The politicized indictment of former President Trump was the latest in a yearslong effort to target him that began with the 2016 Clinton campaign’s false Russia collusion plot.

Trump is dealing with at least 3 more ongoing investigations. theepochtimes.com/analysis-a-clo…
In addition to the #NewYork case, there’s a case in #Georgia being pushed by a local prosecutor, Fani Willis.

There are also 2 federal cases involving special counsel Jack Smith: one about Trump’s alleged wrongdoing on #Jan6, and the other about Trump's handling of documents.
A quick word on pardons before we dive in: only the 2 federal cases are subject to presidential pardons. The New York and Georgia cases are subject to pardons from the respective governors of those states.

Today, we filed an amended complaint in Penebaker v. Hitt, the first lawsuit of its kind in the country to hold the 12 individuals - including Wisconsin's 10 fraudulent electors -
accountable for their illegal, unprecedented, and profoundly anti-democratic actions in attempting to override Wisconsin's certified election results in 2020. lawforward.org/penebaker-v-hi…
We originally filed Penebaker v. Hitt 10 months ago.

It seeks a judicial declaration that the defendants acted unlawfully when they falsely assumed the office of the presidential electors for the state of WI,

NEW: In just-released #Jan6Committee testimony, @Alyssafarah blasts "liar and opportunist" Kayleigh McEnany and other top Republicans for pretending Trump won in 2020 in order to help their careers.

My latest for @TYTreports: tyt.com/reports/7015be…
According to Griffin, almost everyone in the Trump White House knew that Biden won fairly in 2020 but once Trump started constructing his lie campaign to illegally remain in office, they decided to help out anyway. tyt.com/reports/7015be…
"She wanted a certain life post-Trump and that required staying in his good graces," Griffin said of McEnany.

"It worked out precisely how she'd always planned for it to, but she knew better." ImageImage

🧵As the #Jan6Committee wraps up, there are troubling indications that it isn't going to tell the full story.

While Trump caused the Capitol Putsch, it was right-wing extremism that made tens of thousands of people hear his call. This must be said: tyt.com/reports/7015be…
The committee was right to refer Trump for criminal prosecution for his months of deliberate lies and incitement before the attack, but the executive summary released this week notably omits any mention of Christian supremacism, white nationalism, or anti-abortion sentiment.
We'll see what the full report looks like, but based on why my @TYTreports colleague @CandiceColeNews heard from committee member Jamie Raskin, it seems as though some members may not have wanted to broach the subject of right-wing extremism in the report. tyt.com/reports/7015be…

I hope Donald Trump pays a price for Jan 6, but whoever replaces him will likely be even worse and in the unlikely event that elite impunity fails and he’s punished, it will not vindicate our broken system or redeem our politics. #Jan6Committee
I don’t know how many times it must be said: Donald Trump is a symptom of the disease that afflicts America, not the disease itself. And we have not treated the disease; if anything, we’ve made it worse. #Jan6Committee
We treat the disease that Donald Trump represents in part by providing basic security and recognizing a set of economic rights. We must renew the social contract to meet the material needs of the working class in the 21st century and make fascism less appealing.

Jan 6 Updates today #January6thHearings in thread.
Testifying today is Cassidy Hutchinson, former aid to White house chief of staff for the then president Trump, Mark Meadows.
The line of questioning is setting up the fact that Ms. Hutchinson was intimately involved in the daily needs of President Trump as well as Mark Meadows. She was not a "low level assistant".

First, here is an earlier thread about a letter previously sent to Loudermilk--this May 19 letter is referenced in the newest one.

TLDR: GOP said they didn't give tours of the Capitol bf Jan 6, but the Comm heard they did and wanted to talk to Loudermilk
Like the #Jan6Hearings, you could call this letter a multimedia presentation.

In it, the Committee shares what they say are photos of Loudermilk giving a tour on January 5, when the Capitol was closed to the public.

[2] On 1/2/21 Trump w/ John Eastman who #Jan6Committee deems a co-conspirator, had a tele co defense w/ hundreds of state legislators in SEIU states trying to get them to decertify the election results. Translation: Trump personally acted to advance the conspiracy.
[3] Trump wanted to make minion Jeffrey Clark head of DOJ. Clarke willing to send letters lying abt possibility election stolen to state legislatures to pressure them to decertify. His own WH Counsel threatened to quit. Translation: More evidence Trump knew it was wrong.

I want to share a story 🧵

One morning in early July 2020, someone called & asked if I was aware that the previous day WH Chief of Staff @MarkMeadows called in Army Sec Ryan McCarthy and SECDEF Esper.
The purpose of the meeting was to berate them for having @AVindman’s name on the promotion list and pressure/order them to remove him.

I immediately began shivering. My teeth were chattering. I stepped outside in VA in July but I wasn’t cold, I was shaking from adrenaline.
My husband’s service, my service, our family’s decades of service was being destroyed because he was an impediment to their corruption.

I was upset then but now I can talk about it more clearly: these people are nothing more than mafioso thugs.

Roger Stone and Alex Jones, key planners of the January 6 Stop the Steal rally and illegal march that led to the deadly storming of the US Capitol, have been subpoenaed by the US Congressional committee investigating the attack. gregpalast.com/alex-jones-rog…

(1) Republicans don't actually #BackTheBlue, as became obvious on and after 1/6.

The one thing they SHOULD support in response to the police brutality-exposing movement, is the firing and where possible, prosecuting of the "bad cops."

Derek Chauvin being a prime example.
(2) Republicans have encouraged, enabled and (still) condone those who claim Derek Chauvin did nothing wrong, while also claiming insurrectionist Ashli Babbitt did nothing wrong.

This alone exposes their rank hypocrisy and intellectual dishonesty.

It's all interrelated.
(3) The city of Phoenix, AZ does have a case to answer for it's policing practices.

Especially concerning disabled people. That term includes people with neurodevelopmental disorders like Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD. And it includes people with mental health issues.

(1) Oh for fuck's sake, Trumpers.

MPDC Officer Michael Fanone is one of the most courageous, outspoken LEO survivors of YOUR f**king terrorist attack on the seat of the US government.

Learn some basic facial recognition skills. And grow some character, too.
(2) All four LEOs who testified on day one of the #Jan6Committee hearings are absolute American heroes, but especially Fanone, given the serious injuries that affect him to this day.

Y'all were treating PTSD as real in 2016. Now you mock it.
(3) The number of LEOs (from multiple agencies) who acted to save lives that day & acquired the workplace mental injury known as PTSD is likely in the hundreds.

Many of the civilians such as office workers, janitors, & catering staff acquired it, too.

They are crime victims.

(1) Elise Stefanik's lies in this statement are easy to expose:

Regardless of Pelosi's decisions, she relied on the normal inter-branch DC security planning process, which was suspended before 1/6 - by Trump as CiC of the DG Nat Guard.
(2) As I have been explaining since 1/6, there is a standard process for ensuring security ahead of planned mass protests in DC.

It does not rely on one agency, such as the USCP.

It relies on a large number of them:
(3) It is inter-state, inter-branch, and inter-jurisdiction.

Federal: Legislative, executive, judicial branches
State: MD and VA and any others asked
Local: The MPDC

The federal exec branch has multiple agencies in this process:

If TFG was watching the 1/6 riot on TV upstairs, he should have been in the Situation Room by then.

When he had Covid, reportedly his Dr said if you don't walk to the car to go hospital we will have to take you there on a gurney.

Same situation: They had power to force him.
IMO he should have been compelled to go to the Situation Room immediately. Who could do this? Secret Service, or USMC, or even civilian officials.

We now know parts of the Secret Service (which is part of DHS) were compromised.
And I'm revising a position I held later in January about the 25A.

Pence's letter about it made sense to me at the time. But knowing what we know now, I no longer see it that way. Image
