21 years of Democracy in Nigeria
The journey began in 1960,but truncated by men in khaki. Subsequently we had two interrupted republics, not until 1999 when the 4th republic kicked off. May 29th was, & now June the 12th is Democracy day in Nigeria. #DemocracyDayNigeria #Nigeria
While some are in secured mansions at choice reserves dinning with assorted dishes procured with dividends of democracy, others are in constant fear, eating their hearts in lamentation. #June12th
Thus democracy day for us, should be a sobering moment. This day should remind us how the government has fallen short of the endless possibility democracy offers and the citizens movement to institutionalise good governance has weakened over time.
