I'm here at the Floyd Light Park Black Lives Matter event where I spoke with a gentleman from #WallofVets, Paul Swortz, and he's with a handful of others with the group. Less than 100 gathered here in the park, many clad in black. #koin6news
Here's an interview with Mr. Swortz. He said he is here for Black Lives Matter. He said he doesn't necessarily condone more violent modes of protest, as seen last night at PPB East Precinct across the street, but is here to observe. #koin6news
There's folks also with a community barbecue set up at the park, grilling some meat and giving out snacks for people, however they say they are not the famed Riot Ribs as had been seen downtown near the Justice Center in the past.

About a couple dozen people here for a planned protest and march against police brutality at the north end of Laurelhurst Park. Not much activity so far, but Portland Resistance Assistance and ACLU legal observers are here. People slowly trickling in. #koin6news

A wider view of the park. There were a few dozen people just relaxing on the grass about an hour before any tables were set up, so not sure how many of the people broadly are part of the protest. But there’s definitely been more people coming in who look to be participants.
At SW Farmington/196, two people are dead after a horrible crash. A neighbor says he ran over to help but it was too late. He tells us both people in that blue Chrysler died #KOIN6News
UPDATE: @WCSOOregon says 2 adults are dead. The driver of the truck is ok and cooperating, no signs of impairment. Investigators still working to figure out what caused the crash. SW Farmington will be closer between 195 and 198 for the next few hours #KOIN6News
Investigators now believe the driver of the Chrysler may be have been speeding and crossed the center line, into the path of the truck. The road is still closed as both are being towed away #KOIN6News

Tonight, family and friends are remembering Carl Ross Sr. He was found dead in the under-construction Rhino exhibit at @OregonZoo yesterday. He was there for a concert and the family wants answers as to how he died #KOIN6News

We’re told this all started with a theft call at 2:15 this afternoon. A woman reported a man stole “two weapons” from a cabinet outside of her home and ran in to the woods. Deputies got her and her daughter out safely #KOIN6News
Tactical teams and K-9 units were called in to search for that man. Some two hours later, gunfire was exchanged between deputies and that shooter #KOIN6News

Aimee was on SE Powell when she says the driver of a BMW SUV came speeding in to the intersection, sending another SUV towards her. She says she tried comforting the woman who eventually died. Two others in that SUV were taken to the hospital #KOIN6News

VIOLENT ATTACK: A woman was sucker punched Sunday night in the Ankeny Alley near Voodoo. The 44-year-old has a broken right eye socket, “I’m just happy to be alive and to have my eyesight” she tells me #KOIN6News
25-year-old Daniel Bertrand was arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault in this unprovoked attack. He’s now back out on the streets and a lot of people down here are very upset about that #KOIN6News
