ATTENTION FRIENDS! Can you help us reach our new goal?

We want to get to 150,000 signatures before March 15th 2023.

On March 15th, International #LongCovid Day, we want to take the campaign to Westminster!
It’s a big ask. We know. It means asking you to share this thread, contact your elected representatives, telling everyone you know, sharing this across social media. More than once. But we are about 39,000 off our goal and we think we can do it. #longcovid #pwLC #FBLC
It is pretty clear to us that there is a growing number of people who believe #keyworkers with #longcovid who are in difficult straits now are in this position because of their job. It’s obvious you all agree with @AppgCoronavirus recommendations about a compensation & pension

I’ve been a registered #nurse for 3 years.

2.5 years of #covid working front line, and left burnt out, seeing such trauma left me #suicidal and needing #PTSD #EMDR therapy. In that time I was diagnosed with Autism and this year I buried my mum.

So actually @RishiSunak
I will be #striking #rcn #costofliving #ToryChaos

Your government were encouraging the public to clap for us during some very dark times.

A 72p pay rise won’t even get me three Cadbury chomps! It’s insulting to all of us #keyworkers @UKLabour @AngelaRayner
You know how you can fix this? Call a #GeneralElection and move aside for a real government, you have no mandate, no integrity, and no hope. #ToryChaos #ToryShambles #GeneralElectionNow

1/1 Let's target #SmartLockdown to address *unavoidable* contact patterns of the precarious #keyWorkers who carry most risk with #SupportToIsolate strategies. #tier4 #lockdown #ThinkLikeAModellerStingLikeABee. Here's why. jackiecassell.com/time-to-suppor… Cassius Clay
2/3 #EssentialWorker jobs, overcrowded #housing, shared #transport, #unpaidcare roles, lack of money - these are major *mechanisms* of transmission, not just statistical associations. 3/3 This @PHE report says it all. Even before #newvariant effect, we knew it's the people who are out there working who carry our #Covid19 risk. We need a #SmartLockdown that supports every #Essentialworker to #SelfIsolate #tier4 #lockdown gov.uk/government/pub…

People in low-paid jobs have been at high risk of contracting #covid19 throughout the pandemic.

On International #JusticeDay for cleaners and security guards, we must heed calls for safer workplaces, fair pay and dignity. Image
Many people in the UK can’t afford to take a sick day.

Emanuel Gomes died from #coronavirus after he continued to work with symptoms, fearing loss of income.

His tragic death is a reminder we need #SickPayForAll #JusticeForCleaners

Figures from @ONS showed security guards have the highest #Covid19 mortality rate of any occupation, almost 4.5 times the average.

It’s clear we need to do more to ensure their safety with access to PPE and workplace risk assessments.

/// THREAD on Chancellor @RishiSunak's announcement tonight on the future of the income support schemes. 1/
After considerable media speculation, the Chancellor has finally pronounced on the economic future of millions, by detailing the changes to be made to the #JobRetentionScheme (JRS) and the #SelfEmployedIncomeSupportScheme (SEISS). theguardian.com/politics/2020/… 2/
These have been the two most important income support measures in what is likely to be the biggest economic recession in modern history. Both had serious shortcomings from the get-go. 3/

My stance and thread on June 1st #schoolsreopening just so the #dfe don't bully you with blind Science... I think the way #DominicCummnings was treated totally different to anyone else sums up the real lack of trust from the #government from Parents and teachers alike. 1/3
We wanted to start with Y6 on June 1st in bubbles BUT only 9/46 wanted the kids to return. Sadly this is not possible now as only 50% of the #PPE order has arrived. Im not opening my school (other than #Keyworkers / #vulnerables) until I can guarantee staff and children's safety
I am not willing to have the #DFE blood on my hands. The disaster in the #carehomes and with #edenred shows their decisions are pretty 'rubbish'. Thus following the RA, Y6 return June 15th ... Y1 June 29th (if things go well) and Rec July 13th. I have full Gov backing and....

THREAD. A week ago I wrote this on the contribution that #migrants and #refugees make to the response to #coronavirus. Since then I have been collecting information on HOW this happens in different countries to learn for the future.

Still in the #USA, the State Department is on the lookout for medical professionals abroad willing to work in the #US. As long as they have a valid visa....mhh.....🙄
