The on-screen descriptions in series four of the Netflix drama have become a hit with a younger generation who aren’t hard of hearing.

So, how did #StrangerThings4 make subtitles cool?
thetimes.co.uk/article/strang…
Jeff T, the shows subtitles writer, used phrases such as “tentacles undulating moistly”, to describe the villain Vecna; “fissure writhing wetly”, to describe a gate opening; and “Nancy bandaging wetly”, as the character Nancy Wheeler attends to a wound
These phrases have become a hit on social media for displaying the sort of verbosity usually found in sixth-form English literature essays 📔

I think Bury Your Gays has a lot to do with timing. If queer happiness is fleeting, if death feels like a punishment for that happiness, that walks a dangerous line. I think my frustration with #KillingEve is that a. the source material gives them a happy ending b. The timing
We can’t be in a place where queer characters can never die, but there is a lot of nuance to BYG that should be considered by creators. Bly Manor was successful at having a queer character die without falling into this trope.
Also, if you court a queer audience, and know you have a dedicated queer audience, and you give them death as a payoff, it begs the question - did you value your audience?

Though it is a little early for spoilers for #killingEve, I really feel that the show would have been much stronger if we got to see at least one of the Twelve to give a face to the overarching villain.

Helene really acted as that force in the structure...
But, as I said, I will hold off my usual script doctoring as its all a bit too soon and spoilers are an issue.

I would have loved Pheobe Waller Bridge to return to write the ending.
Ultimately, I would have really enjoyed seeing Eve fully reveal her true nature, and get to a space where she is underestimated, and ultimately absolutely fucking butchers her enemies, most mentally and physically.

She is the scorpion, not the toad.

Created by Bafta-nominated writer Rob Williams, who wrote #KillingEve and #TheVictim, #Screw focuses on Leigh, a female prison officer who works in an all-male prison, which already tells us that there'll be a *lot* to unpack. glamourmagazine.co.uk/article/screw-…
Most exciting of all, the show's cast is made up of stars from #DerryGirls, #LineOfDuty and #IMayDestroyYou, meaning we'll be seeing some of our favourite on-screen talent acting alongside each other 🙌 trib.al/YXHOdtF Image
The six-part drama has been described by Channel 4 as a depiction of a prison like we've never seen before, showing "the uncensored, terrifying and often darkly funny reality of life as a prison officer in an all-male prison in 21st century Britain.” glamourmagazine.co.uk/article/screw-…

What a day at the @IMDSymposium, hearing from @KatyRR, @SeanGreenMusic, @ChrisPoonMD, @musicbeater, @marcshaiman, @lippaofficial, @LacketyLac, @stephenoremus, @StuartMorleyMD and others. Can’t wait for tomorrow! In other news my kids glammed up using make up and hair chalk 😂🧑‍🎤👩‍🎤
2nd day of @IMDSymposium was just as good. My highlights were definitely @musicbeater showing us his orchestrating process and @StuartMorleyMD’s presentation on tempo, but none of that will surprise anyone who knows me! #academic #OchestrationAndArrangement #process @nickisapiro
Seem to have missed Tuesday’s tweet somehow, so this is a double-header to make it back up. The whole day was spent in one sort of meeting or other, ranging from study support to teaching assistant interviews to our virtual graduation celebration. Hectic but good. @nickisapiro

When we call something queerbaiting, we're essentially saying: "source material X doesn't count as real or valid queer representation." Here is a thread on why we need to be cognizant about which real-life queer people & stories we're erasing when we expand our use of that term.
First: actual queerbaiting, in which art-creators hint at queer representation in order to attract viewers and then insist their art was 100% hetero all along, sucks a lot. I am not advocating getting rid of the term.
Nor am I saying it's not valid to feel jerked around when a show uses the promise of a specific queer relationship on their publicity circuit, and then doesn't follow through on it in the actual source. (Or follows through only to write out a character, a la #TheMagicians)

Always rule #1. She thinks she is too good for it now. Lets talk to her in a couple of years when they reboot Hollywood Squares again and she is the upper left. She can wave at T.R. Knight and Emmy Rossum w a h/t to Katherine Heigl in the center square.
The list is endless. Mischa Barton, Ian Somerhalder (who finally lucked into Vampire Diaries), Anthony Edwards, David Caruso, Dan Stevens, the other one from Downton Abbey no one remembers, Topher Grace, Pamela Anderson, Lisa Bonet, Farrah Fawcett
Courtney Thorne Smith, Shelley Long, David Duchovny (really hurting until Californication), Suzanne Somers (Thighmaster saved her 20 year later), Charles Estevez, Christopher Abbott (he eventually returned), Christopher Meloni, Delta Burke
