BREAKING: #Lucknow Court rejects bail plea of Umar Gautam in the 'nationwide illegal religious conversion racket case'.

Special Judge NIA/ATS, Lucknow rejected Gautam's plea noting that allegations against him are of serious nature and he is the key accused in the FIR.

Chhatri is a memorial chapel built over a #tomb found throughout the region of #Rajasthan, #MadhyaPradesh and #Maharashtra. These memorials commemorate the death of rulers, their consorts, relatives and the elite. 1/🧵

If Samadhis were funerary monuments of saints in #Hindus, Chhatris were #Rajput's choice of the memorial. They made sure that the memory of the chivalry of their ancestors passed on to the next generations. Though, all Chhatris did not necessarily contain the mortal remains. 2/

Chhatri i.e. umbrella, first appeared as a canopy above the tomb in #Islamic #architecture. #Hindu kings transformed the tomb into Chhatri. By the 16th C, Rajput courts had started building Chhatris. It was a place where a noble was cremated, memorialized and later worshipped. 3/

In this thread, we’ll try and see if we can find some answers. Rs 7,090 cr is indeed a huge number and what will it take for RP-SG to recover this, and by when. First of all: RP-SG will have to pay this amount to BCCI over 10 years in equal instalments. (2/24)

So, that’s Rs 709 cr per year. They will have to submit a bank guarantee to BCCI of Rs 709 cr which the cricket board will keep with themselves until the end of all 10 instalments. The instalments begin with the 2022 edition of the IPL, until 2031. (3/24)

The chaos, health infra in JSR, my hometown & a fairly developed city, has given a 1st hand experience of healthcare in small towns. Doesn't end at lack of infra. Sheer negligence & under-preparedness both by govt & ppl is beyond belief. Story same across tier 2&3 towns in India

#Covidcrisis has fiercely moved from big cities to small towns - those having limited experience of 1st wave, were complacent & poorly educated about the outbreak. Health infra broken, unable to take the load, processes are slowing. 2020 was just taken as a one-off historic event

Good optics but not of great practical value as people gasp for oxygen The tankers loaded from LKO to Jharkhand for bringing oxygen are cryogenic tankers that come in different sizes.Smaller tankers that we see on the train are under 10% of all tankers in India 2/n #OxygenCrisis

So despite best efforts the LKO train was run with only 6 tankers which is still very less for a city like Lucknow and also pale in comparison to the effort taken to move a train all the way to Jharkhand and back 3/n #Lucknow

In an appalling case of apathy, a recorded conversation between a COVID patient in Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow and an official of the coronavirus command centre has raised concerns about the facility set up by the state to facilitate the treatment of patients and assist them.

Santosh Kumar Singh, along with his wife, got himself tested for COVID-19 on April 10. The couple decided to self-isolate after reporting symptoms of the virus.

On April 12, reports confirmed that the two were infected with the virus, reported India Today. Relying on the UP government's claim that one phone call to the COVID-19 command centre can get help, Santosh Kumar Singh called the helpline.
