#Latour was a giant, an indelible inspiration for me among many, who will be sorely missed, as others are articulating much more eloquently. But for me the lists of favorite texts I’ve seen are not hitting the mark, so this version focuses differently (and on the early days).
1) Callon and #Latour (1982) “unscrewing the big leviathan,” long before Tsing a different way of thinking about the #scales of phenomena, actors, projects as growing and shrinking; realities growing and shrinking in the same process.

2) #Latour (1984) “the powers of association,” a performative definition of society as continuously remade. Strong resonances to Foucault’s microphysics of power but in more dynamical terms. #performativity #power bruno-latour.fr/sites/default/…

#VendrediLecture #lostintranslation

Was thinking of starting a small series with the hashtag #WorstAcademicDiagrams but worried that they'd all end up being from Bruno Latour articles.
Prompted by this diagram, which has really got to me this afternoon #WorstAcademicDiagrams
...but of course I know that there's much worse out there, like this with is also from Latour #WorstAcademicDiagrams
