This #Karthikeya2 is picking my brain for a long time. Total collections - 60 cr is what they are saying. And they are also saying theatres are houseful. Now, let's consider 75% occupancy as the reasonable one. Let's assume the dataset is complete.

At 75% occupancy, the film will clock a minimum of 110-115 crore. But, what is declared? 60 crore. Now, why do I say the occupancy numbers are not correct? Because I know for sure these two are houseful.
Now, if the occupancy data is incomplete, what's the chance show details is also incomplete? Now, this dataset shows the total occupancy to be around 25% and the projected income shows it as 40%. Simple question. How can a movie have a bull run for two weeks at 40% occupancy?

#LalSinghChadha - have we won? - A thread.

Lal Singh Chadha is a lousy movie. And if its first day collections are any indication, it’s going to be a colossal disaster.
While Cinema experts will blame the quality of the movie to explain its doom, it’s clear as a day that boycott calls crashed Aamir’s plane.
But have we won? Can it be claimed as a civilisational victory? Or do we need to tank more movies to claim victory? The fact is, that victory is not even in sight. This one, if at all, was just a small skirmish.

Few points on #LalSinghChadha. Going by the reviews across the board, seems LSC is Aamir Khan’s biggest blunder. I will only restrict this to craft of film making and not to culture wars which requires separate thread. 1) Artistes should never ever entertain creative egos.
At 57 if you want to play a character with an age span of 15-30, and you have no one in the team including the director to say that this is a ridiculous idea, you must know you are trapped in your own ego and your understanding of greatness.
2) Film making is never a solo exercise. As a huge star, it is always tempting to work with yes men, so that you can do your own thing. That is death of any artiste. You must learn to handle dissent within your team, like you want dissent to be entertained in larger society.
