Thanks @NBCNightlyNews @maddow and @AP for telling the resistance story. Our #CloseTheCamps action in Buffalo called out the real estate moguls who are renting office space to ICE & DHS, thus profiting from state-sponsored child abuse. I’m a #veteran. I got arrested.

As the Buffalo 9 occupied an intersection at the ICE field office until arrested, we wore on our backs the name of a child who died in custody, at the hands of the U.S. gov’t. And so, 7-year old Jakelin Caal Maquin stood with me to say, #CloseTheCampsNow !

When #LightsForLiberty was an idea a few of us activists were batting around, we never dreamed hundreds of thousands would mobilize worldwide. I’m awestruck.
But I’ll still consider it a failure if ppl go home & think they’ve done enough just by showing up tonight. /1

My greatest hope is that every person who showed up at @Lights4Liberty tonight left ready to absolutely THROW DOWN in the fight against current US immigration policy and practice.
And that ppl left with tangible plans for how to do so.

1) Find local immigration rights orgs near u. Follow them on social media, join their email list, donate $. I guarantee they need $ & know how to use it well. /3

I attended #NetrootsNation this week, and though I am a liberal not a progressive there were plenty of great sessions. Thur was a session regarding the census with @EricHolder @vanitaguptaCR @AlexPadilla4CA as they were speaking word came that Barr would be joining Trump today😮
