It is day 300 of the Biden presidency. President Biden has been far from a progressive president. Here is a comprehensive list of everything that Joe Biden and his administration has done that was against a “progressive” agenda:
-Air Strikes in Syria
-Mass deportations of Haitians
-Using title 42 to expel 690,000+ people
-generally deporting 1,283,413 people
-Stopping testing for COVID on ICE deportation flights
-killing 10 people in a drone strike in Afghanistan
-continuing to expand offshore drilling
-okaying a $650 million potential air-to-air missile deal for Saudi Arabia
-Reopening previously closed “facilities” at the southern border

Enbridge Inc., the Canadian-based energy giant, announced yesterday that their new #Line3 tar sands pipeline was complete and that oil is expected to flow through it tomorrow.
In their press release, Enbridge states that "its completion ensures a safe, reliable supply of North American crude oil to U.S. refineries," which is evocative to their arguments in appeals court defending one of their approved permits.
Instead of showing any proof that forecast the public’s need for more crude oil products, in the appeal hearing against the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission, Enbridge focused on how there is enough crude being produced in Canada from tar sands to ship it through the line.

Water Protectors at #Line3 learned that the same law firm that repped DAPL and ENBRIDGE is now fighting to overturn the Indian Child Welfare Act…

WHY would a multibillion dollar firm, with multibillion dollar clients, be working pro-bono in family court case in Texas? 1/3
Overturning ICWA in this way would be the be the first domino in a cascade that would also destroy tribal law, tribal sovereignty, & Tribal LANDS -which currently hold ONE THIRD of America's fossil fuels

Big Oil is using ICWA to go through the back door + grab Indian Land. 2/3

Manoomin (wild rice)🌾is lead plaintiff in first ever "Rights of Manoomin" lawsuit filed by White Earth against @mndnr. The agency permitted Enbridge to take 5 billion gallons of water during a drought to build #Line3.

This case is reshaping the law as we know it: a thread (1/6)
@mndnr Plaintiffs are claiming that the DNR violated the rights of manoomin as well as multiple treaty rights to hunt, fish and gather along Line 3's route.

“Manoomin will have its day in court; this is big,” said Michael Fairbanks, chairman of the White Earth Band of Ojibwe. (2/6)
@mndnr The move stems from the "Rights of Nature" doctrine, a legal theory acknowledging that an ecosystem is entitled to legal personhood status and has rights to defend itself in a court of law against harms, including environmental degradation caused by projects like Line 3. (3/6)

Winona LaDuke calls on President Biden to stop the #Line3 tar sands pipeline project, noting that a federal Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) hasn’t been done at a federal level. Image
Lack of a proper federal EIS was the reason that a federal judge found the Dakota Access Pipeline was built illegally. (DAPL is still operating as this ruling is being appealed.)

Minnesota's Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) has classified all its data related to the Enbridge Line 3 pipeline as secret "security information."

This includes all info the MN Fusion Center has collected surveilling people who oppose Line 3.

unicornriot.ninja/2021/line-3-fu…
BCA is mostly known for investigating crime scenes & police shootings, but also administers the Minnesota Fusion Center, formerly known as the Minnesota Joint Analysis Center (MnJAC).

They regularly exchange data w/ “Critical Infrastructure and Key Resource” (CIKR) corporations. ImageImageImage
A January 16, 2019 memo signed by MN Department of Safety (DPS) Commissioner John Harrington classifies virtually all BCA fusion center data as "security information" to be hidden from the public and the media. (DPS is BCA's parent agency).

It is day 150 of the Biden presidency. In 150 short days Biden has, unsurprisingly, not been a particularly progressive president. So here’s a list of every progressive thing that Biden could have done or every action that Biden took that was against a progressive agenda:
-Air Strikes in Syria
-Reopening previously closed “facilities” at the southern border
-choosing Rahm Emanuel as the US ambassador to Japan.
-sending more military equipment to American neighborhoods than Trump did.
-proposing a $753,000,000,000 Pentagon budget,
-Biden's DOJ continuing to defend Trump in the defamation case that accuses him of raping journalist E. Jean Carroll
-settling on a 25% corporate tax rate
-Not sanctioning MBS
-proposing a $753,000,000,000 Pentagon budget

For the Anishinaabe people, the annual wild rice harvest across the Great Lakes is tradition, sustenance, and cultural lifeway.

But, the wild rice is at risk, threatened by climate change, mining, water pollution, and now the #Line3 pipeline. grist.org/food/line-3-pi…

VIDEO THREAD: Today activists occupied a Line 3 Pipeline construction site in Northern Minnesota, halting operations for the day.

Just before 5 pm, police from several departments came and began arrests, initially scuffling with protesters linking arms at the entrance.
The construction site had a giant fence around it with only two entrances, so police had some guards posted outside, but the group was basically kettled the moment police stepped in.

"You're all under arrest for trespassing on critical infrastructure" officers announced.
The next several arrests took place at the one other entrance to the Line 3 construction site.

Activists had erected several makeshift barricades, and officers arrested many (by my count, 16, but not precisely sure) activists as they dismantled part of the barricade.

"Religions broadly teach that the Earth is a sacred gift, that it's our job to take care of it, and that we've got to wake up and do that."

Let's talk about Minnesotans for Line 3, the propaganda arm of @Enbridge's #Line3 expansion project. 🧵 (1/10)
Minnesotans for Line 3 (M4L3) was founded in 2018 by the late Bob Schoneberger, a previous Enbridge employee and the then-CEO of United Piping Inc., a fossil fuel infrastructure contractor that stood to benefit from a Line 3 expansion. (2/10)

linkedin.com/in/bob-schoneb…
Not long after its founding, M4L3 began to play dirty.

In 2018, members of M4L3 stockpiled limited tickets to an @MN_PUC hearing regarding Line 3, only to skip the meeting, depriving the public of its ability to voice concern over Line 3. (3/10)

On Feb 19, a family-friendly caravan disrupted traffic at several #Line3 construction routes. During the event, authorities announced a baseless bomb threat via FEMA’s Wireless Emergency Alerts system, which prompted backlash from locals who believed protesters were at fault.
While the caravan was stopped at the 3rd disruption area, authorities sent the “Imminent extreme alert” SMS messages to cell phones in Aitkin, St Louis, Pine, and Carlton Counties. Image
This “potential explosive hazard” turned out to be false, but the psychological effects were real with the ensuing backlash. Carlton County Sheriff's Office published two press releases making unsubstantiated connections between the water protectors and the "hazard." ImageImage
