Speaking of photojournalists doing the Lord's work ....

What a gallery here of local journalists on the front lines across the country (including an amazing capture from the aforementioned @joshuabickel)

Seriously. Look at that image from @daisugano in this gallery.

I can write as many descriptors as exist and yet never convey what a single image can.

#localjournalismmatters here are some takeouts from a speech I gave in Bend Oregon. @thebulletin⁩ almost went out of business recently but the town rallied behind the paper which has been publishing since 1903. Support local journalism. bendbulletin.com/opinion/759563…
@thebulletin I'll also say this: when you worry about disinformation, when you are concerned about the truth there is a solution -- share stories from legitimate news sources that are fact based. It won't solve everything but it is a start.
@thebulletin Also the news can be overwhelming. But don't check out completely. Set aside 10 minutes of your day at least (ehem, there is a podcast for that @UpFirst) or even better *more* to know what the headlines are.

Then the November election happened. And the @CityofFresno council suddenly looked a lot different. Leading up to that, I attended forums held by @FresnoBHC, @FaithInFresno, @LCJandA, @cncedfund, @HIPcalifornia. 2/
And let’s not forget Measure P. Even though it didn’t technically pass (that’s being argued in court), it was easily the most controversial election issue in Fresno’s election. An example of issue vs candidate politics. 3/

The Plain Dealer informed the Guild today it would move forward with a plan to outsource the jobs of 29 Guild and management employees who copy edit, curate and design our newspaper. #KeepPDLocal #keepjournalismlocal #localjournalismmatters #1u @news_guild @CWAUnion
The Plain Dealer unit of the Northeast Ohio Newspaper Guild for months has fought to keep this work in Cleveland because the Guild knows that having local journalists, with knowledge of the community, would produce the best newspaper. #KeepPDLocal @news_guild @CWAUnion
The company had a proposal from the Guild that offered significant savings and would preserve quality. The company could not assure the Guild, other than with platitudes, that the other “bidders” would treat Guild work with the same care. #KeepPDLocal @news_guild @CWAUnion
