5yrs ago, before starting uni, I messaged someone part of the SU LGBT committee. I was worried about being "out" at uni. They encouraged me to get involved with the SU, and I became the Disabled students rep for the committee. #LoveSUs

It feels strange now as someone who is very confident in their sexuality to look back at someone who really wasn't.
The SU helped me find a community, become confident in public speaking, realise my passion for activism & research & put me on the path to my current job.#LoveSUs

Starting uni is a scary & daunting (& exciting) experience. I didn't have anyone in my family to guide me through or ask these questions to.

This week our amazing staff are on campus helping students settle in & feel welcome in these uncertain times. Throughout the year we signpost students to support when needed, & represent their academic interests & wellbeing to the University. #LoveSUs @hertssu @UniofHerts @nusuk
