Exactly the kind of painting I'd expect from an Elon Musk stan though.

"Midas Touch is a cautionary tale."

I want to make this very clear: If I ever find out who that Product Manager was, or their venmo/kofi/whatever, I will personally buy them a drink. Or cheese.

You are my kind of person, and I appreciate you. #Twitter #LoveWhereYouWorked Image

Yesterday was my last day at Twitter. It has been an absolute honor working with so many amazing people in the last 5.5 years. It was wilder than I could have ever imagined with so many stories and unforgettable moments
It started with managing a recommendation team, then building a data-informed Growth org with some of the best people at Twitter, leading to consistent causal audience growth. Then working with ML experts across the company to accelerate Personalization and AI in the core product
and, most recently, working with @elonmusk to transform the company towards his vision and texting about product ideas or bugs with him at 3am!

Wow. Elon is now considering not paying the one month of severance he promised IN WRITING, last month.

On behalf of the many Twitter workers I represent: we'll file new claims for this breach, if it happens, and add it to all the others.

Let's be clear about the many promises made, promises broken to Twitter workers.

In his acquisition agreement, Elon promised they'd get the same severance as pre-Elon laid off workers.

That didn't happen.

#TwitterLayoffs
Employees stayed on during the tumultuous April - October "Elon is buying Twitter" "Elon is not buying Twitter" chaos, based on this promise from both HR and Elon.

Like a lot of the Android team yesterday, I resigned from @Twitter 🫡💙

Personally, I’m going to take a break and work out I want to do next.

I just want to say thank you to all of the tweeps who made my time so great. #LoveWhereYouWorked

Short 🧵 /1
My team shipped #JetpackCompose and all of our internal supporting infra internally, supporting a bunch of teams, enabling them to move soooo much faster. We fully built out our design system as part of this too. /2

We (and I mean mostly @_sierraobryan here) were this close to shipping the Compose re-write of a core piece of UI which is used *everywhere*, but alas it now lives in unshipped experimentation purgatory. /3

Elon Musk’s ‘extremely hardcore’ ultimatum to twitter staff seems to have backfired

A LOT of twitter staff just quit —View the tweets here on this hashtag 😮 #LoveWhereYouWorked
And now twitter has locked down its offices

Elon Musk Worried disgruntled staff who just quit might retaliate with one last stunt?
Twitter had roughly 2,900 remaining employees before the deadline

Now hundreds more just quit

“Remaining and departing Twitter employees told The Verge that, given the scale of the resignations this week, they expect the platform to start breaking soon.“

1/ Over this past weekend, I made the tough decision to resign from Twitter. Originally, my last day was going to be Nov. 25, but now it’s today. So I’m going to share w. all of you what I shared w. the remaining teams at Twitter earlier this week. A love letter:
2/
Eleven years ago, I was debating between two jobs — one that was an obvious progression of title and money, the other was Twitter, a far riskier proposition.
3/I took the job at Twitter because I thought I would get better stories out of the experience.

I was right. 😂

It's been a week since the Curation Team was disbanded – and since then I've seen foolish theories about our work.

I was a Curation Regional Lead and here's a necessary thread to understand what we used to do, how we impacted product and why our departure is a loss for Twitter🧵
🤔What did Curation do?

We're responsible for highlighting & contextualizing the most relevant stories that unfold on Twitter. Our work made it easy for customers to experience only-on-Twitter convos and get the most out of the platform, regardless of which accounts they follow.
🦾How did Curation do it?

- Adding context to Trends to explain why it was trending
- Creating Moments by hand-picking Tweets to provide deeper context
- Creating live Moments to reflect ongoing stories
- Creating followable Topics to help users find what’s most relevant to them

After 7 years, I resigned from Twitter today.

This service is silly, savage, and messy, but always deeply human. That is because—not in spite of—thoughtful stewardship by some of the very best humans, the Tweeps🫡💙
I am grateful to have worked alongside incredibly talented people, building products for customers we cared about. To my brilliant teammates and friends, thank you. It’s been an honor. 💖
Like most of us who cared more than we wanted to admit—over the years, fair or not— I’d cringe at our mistakes, complain about unrealized opportunities or prematurely abandoned investments, and regularly utter lazy and melodramatic phrases like “I hate it here.”

Yesterday was my last day at Twitter: the entire Human Rights team has been cut from the company.

I am enormously proud of the work we did to implement the UN Guiding Principles on Business & Human Rights, to protect those at-risk in global conflicts & crises including Ethiopia,
Afghanistan, and Ukraine, and to defend the needs of those particularly at risk of human rights abuse by virtue of their social media presence, such as journalists & human rights defenders.
I will forever be grateful for the privilege of getting to work with @cynthiamw @heysarah & @EstherOhrt on the Human Rights team, along with so many other brilliant, mission-driven individuals across the company.
