Since ~2016, it became apparent platforms have a dramatic effect on democracy. They are driven by a desire for growth & this is often in conflict w/ democratic goals.

I enjoyed LulaRich but I wish it contextualized the company within the MLM system. LulaRoe's exploitative practices and misleading marketing aren't unique to them or attributable to the culture created by Deanne and Mark.
The problems are systemic, and there's a larger story to be told about how AmWay & the DeVos family paved the way to legalize pyramid schemes (listen to The Dream!).
And yes, Deanne & Mark's family is pretty juicy. But the documentary spends a disproportionate amount of time platforming the people who got rich off LulaRoe. I couldn't help but feel like someone could watch the first three episodes and still think joining was a good idea.
