So, about the battle for the 203-member PA state House: In order to get elected speaker, you need 102 votes. Not just a majority of those present—102 votes, minimum. And there are some real potential hurdles for Dems

While a lot of the base outside of the state loves Kobach, he would've made holding the U.S. Senate harder for the GOP. Not convinced it would've been a defeat, but money and time needed elsewhere for them.

He's losing the largest vote-getter in #MI8 to Mike Detmer, which is Livingston County, and relying on the vote of two of the least red counties in the district.
Meanwhile, #MI13 unsurprisingly demonstrated what a disaster this mail-in vote will be in November.
First look at #MI13, where Wayne County shows zero precincts reporting.... but of the ~12k votes counted, "Squad" member Rashida Tlaib is doubling up her bitter rival, Detroit city council president Brenda Jones.

not much of an update, few thousand more votes counted, Tlaib still leads Jones by a 2-to-1 margin

House and Senate primaries are being held in 5 states today including in Arizona, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri and Washington.
Arizona GOP Appointed-Senator Martha McSally faces primary challenger Daniel McCarthy today. Winner will likely face Democrat Mark Kelly in the fall election to serve out remainder of the late John McCain’s term until 2022. #AZSEN
In #AZ01, 2nd term Democratic Rep. Tom O’Halleran faces primary challenger former Flagstaff city councilwoman Eva Putzova.Republicans in the district will also elect nominee for the fall election today.O'Halleran won 2018 election to Flagstaff area House seat w/53.8% of the vote.
