In case 2 hours is to much for you, here is a TL;DR 🧵
Retro Artifacts (RA) are going to be a real piece of the format. A specific RA will show up roughly as many times as a regular card of similar rarity.

Most RA's are better in certain archetypes, but all of them are colorless and can be used by multiple drafters. Image
Artifact removal looks main deckable and we would run more than 1 piece. Disenchant > Shoot Down > Raze to the Ground.

Enchantment based removal will be tricky due to this, but even more with sacrifice being a serious part of the format.

Sweepers are almost non-existent. Image

Well, time for first look reviews of cards from the upcoming #MTGBRO set & new cards from commander decks. ImageImage
Some clarifications before we start:
This is just a first look take on the card. A cards powerlevel can change throughout time.
This is subjective. This is my take on the cards. I will sometimes be optimistic to very unique cards, so keep that in mind.
First off, let's get an easy one out of the way, the rest of the painland cycle. Overall, solid lands for standard that will help multicolor decks out. Can also use to splash a color in some deck designs. Great cards overall. (8/10) ImageImageImageImage

Ok, as promised and requested, here is the cliff notes from the stories of #MTGBRO
Ok, some clarifications though before we star:
This summary is going to have a slight comedic edge to it, but as stated before, I did really enjoy the stories. When you have the chance, I would recommend reading them since I won't be able to cover everything.
Also, another thing to note that might catch people by surprise, while the brother's war is talked about and we do have stories of events in the war, the story is not.... exactly about the brother's war...I explain with the chapter summaries. More in...(cont)

So what’s a dragon engine? #MTGBRO

Dragon Engines were the term for both the highly sophisticated artificial lifeforms that were ‘native’ to Phyrexia, and the copies made by Mishra’s army. All of these are examples of dragon engines. ImageImageImageImage
Back in The Thran, we learn the original planeswalker creator of Phyrexia loved taking the form of a metallic dragon, and populated the first sphere with ‘serpents’ in his image.

These were, of course, corrupted by Yawgmoth when he claimed the artificial plane for himself. Image
We don’t know anything else about the original creator of Phyrexia, just that his technology allowed Yawgmoth to fully realize his vision. He was not Chromium.

To celebrate the #MTGBRO Transformers cards, I thought I'd do a little thread of design notes for the cards. First up: Optimus Prime, of course! #WotCStaff 1/?
Optimus changed throughout design, but the Robot's death trigger reviving as a truck never did. It was a good nod to his history of sacrificing himself for the team only to return...though we did keep accidentally enabling infinite loops. #WotCStaff 2/?
Starscream stayed close to this design the whole time. Most change revolved around which side was which and color identity. We always think about how the audience might combine their favorite characters in the same deck, and how to support that. #WotCStaff 3/?

A thread on The Brothers' War! #MTGBRO #Vorthos

Diegetically (meaning in-universe), it's also know as The Antiquies War, or the Antiquity War, which is the name of the book written on it by Kayla bin-Kroog.

(I'll have a whole article to prep you coming next month, don't worry)
Let's start with the things that cause the darn war, the Mightstone and Weakstone! These are two halves a single powerstone containing the soul of the ancient Thran artificer, Glacian. They were used to seal the Gateway to Phyrexia. Each brother covets the others'.
The Mightstone makes things stronger, the Weakstone makes things weaker. Hence, the mechanics. What starts as sibling rivalry results in the death of their mentor and eventually, each brother finds themselves in a position of power between feuding nations.
