Mysterious cave temple of Bhagwan Narasimha.

Narasimha Jharni cave temple, is located in Bidar, Karnataka. It is associated with Bhagwan Narasimha, an incarnation (avatar) of Vishnu. The ancient temple is excavated in a 300 m tunnel under the Manichoola
hill range situated at around 4.8 km from the city.

One has to wade through the cave wherein water height varies from 4 feet to 5 feet to have a glimpse of the deity's image formed on the laterite wall at the end of tunnel which is architectural wonder. Bats
can be seen hanging on the roof of the cave and flying throughout the tunnel. It is a wonder that no one has been harmed by the bats till date. People utter the words govinda-govinda and narasimha hari-hari with devotion as mantras. The end of the cave temple is the

Generally, we see Nandi Maharaj sitting directly opposite the main door of the temple where Mahadev's idol or Shivalingam is located. He is not waiting for him to come out and say something. He is in waiting.
Nandi is symbolism of eternal waiting, because waiting is considered
the greatest virtue in Indian culture. One who knows how to simply sit and wait is naturally meditative. He is not expecting anything. He will wait forever.

The fundamental difference between Prayer & Meditation is that. Prayer means you are trying to talk to God. Meditation
means you are willing to just listen to existence, to the ultimate nature of creation. You have nothing to say, you simply listen.
That is the quality of Nandi – he just sits, alert, not sleepy. He is not sitting passively. He is very active, full of alertness, full of life,

Devarshi Narad was visiting Kailash, ever curious as he is, wanted to know the mystery behind the human head necklace that God Shiva always wore, but could not summon the courage to ask, so he encouraged Devi Sati to enquire. Image

These 3 lingas are the ones that are being worshiped at Vaikom, Kaduthuruthy &Ettumanoor in Kottayam district.

The distance from Vaikom to Kadathuruthy & from there to Ettumanoor is almost equal.Darshan of all these 3 Lingas on the same day is considered a great boon.

Since It's #KarvaChauth today
So I will write down a thread about a similar kerala religious observation called #ThiruvathiraNoyambu or Thiruvathira fasting.
Observed mainly by unmarried girls for getting a husband like #Mahadev & married women for the longevity of their spouse
The month of Dhanu in the Kerala Hindu calendar falls between mid -December to mid-January. On the day when the new moon and the star named Thiruvathira coincide in the month of Dhanu we celebrate an religious observation called Thiruvathira festival.
Story is something like this "Lord Siva was in deep meditation on Meru for years& Goddess Parvathi performed penance to win Siva as her husband. Finally with the help of Kamadeva, her wish was fulfilled. Siva was pleased with her commitment and married Parvathi.
