PEP 💬 Incredibly happy for the (CAS) decision which shows what all the people said about the Club was not true and to defend on the pitch what we won on the pitch.
PEP 💬 Like I said many times, if we did something wrong we would accept the decision of UEFA and CAS because we did something wrong. We can defend ourselves. We have the right to defend ourselves when we believe what we have done is correct.

💡 A Thread on UEFA vs Manchester City

From Der Spiegel claims, European competition ban to CAS Appeal.
5 November, 2018: Der Spiegel claims Manchester City and their sponsors manipulated contracts to circumvent Uefa's FFP regulations. Der Spiegel claims the club allegedly misled Uefa by not revealing they had directed money to the club from Abu Dhabi owner Sheikh Mansour...
... via sponsors linked to him, and artificially inflated the value of their commercial income to help meet FFP rules requiring clubs to break even.

PEP 💬 The first leg we played in Madrid, the second leg we play at home. It’s a normal situation.

It’s not about advantage. It is what it is. In knockout games it’s one at home and one away.
PEP 💬 Well I think in the next season (VAR) will be better. It's only the first season (with it). You will have to ask the people in charge. I am not a specialist in this kind of situation. I don’t know if they will admit the reality. Ask them not me.

“We are just waiting for the green light. Everywhere we see we are going to start on this date and that date. We can’t decide anything, we need to follow the club. I think all of us firstly want to protect the people and then if we can play then why not? We will wait and see.”
“All of the people have missed football, but at this time now, for Muslim people it means I can be more focused on Ramadan. We don’t train, we can fast, but the mosques are closed and we can’t go out or see family at Eid.

"I have tried to develop myself and learn every day.”

I spoke to @soenen_florian about the next steps at the #CAS and beyond regarding #ManCityBan.

A short thread to share some of my key points (in English)

#Sportslaw #UEFALaw #FFP
1. This is the beginning of a (potentially decade long) judicial journey, not the end. Yet, the #CAS will decide (this summer?) the fate of #ManCity in the short term (e.g. for the 2020/2021 season).
2. The #CAS is unlikely to find that #FFP is contrary to EU law after its #Galatasaray decision, but it could find that the sanction is disproportionate/unfair if #ManCity’s lawyers manage to show that #PSG was in a similar situation and got away with it.

A thread on #ManCity's financials...

Revenue growth has been a straight-line trend since 2009. With #UEFA's #UCL ban and fine, we expect annual revenue to drop below £500m for 2021-22. 1/7
Staff costs trend has been tempered by formation of City Football Group and the assumed transfer of some #MCFC costs into the new holding Co. #ManCity currently run 2nd-highest staff costs in English football behind #MUFC (£315.26m vs £332.30m). 2/7
#ManCity's revenue split highlights low Matchday take relative to Commercial/TV income. #MUFC Matchday ££ is 17.67% (£110.80m) of revenue vs #MCFC's £55.01m (10.28%). #UEFA TV payments over last 4 yrs averaged £62.94m based on performance etc. Current TV revenue £252.18m. 3/7

#ManchesterUnited’s long-standing relationship with Chevrolet, at £64 million, is the most lucrative shirt sponsorship deal in the Premier League. From the US automotive brand’s perspective, the agreement looks less attractive in view of #MUFC’s brand value declining since 2018
@utdxtra @utdarena @fcbusiness @utdreport @sistoney67 @MUFR_ @MUnitedFR @FlexUTD @UnitedPeoplesTV #ManUnited is the Premier League club most often perceived as having a rich heritage and history, coming behind only the top Spanish clubs and #Bayern Munich.
These factors are the driving force behind the rewarding partnerships that the brand attracts – at first look Chevrolet
@utdxtra @utdarena @fcbusiness @utdreport @sistoney67 @MUFR_ @MUnitedFR @FlexUTD @UnitedPeoplesTV seems an unusual sponsor, considering its target markets compared to the markets that Manchester United gives access to – but it is the associations with globally recognised heritage that makes the #sponsorship worthwhile. #LFC manager Jürgen Klopp is Germany's coach of the year and after spoke to the German magazine kicker about the goals this season.
"We are not the top favourite in the #ChampionsLeague. #ManCity are once again a favourite. They are very good. In the Premier League City are above everyone, they have a top combination with their coach and their squad," Klopp said.
Klopp likes to call his players mentality monsters but believes that van Dijk, in particular, still has room to grow. "He is world class but setbacks influence his game to much. Others handle that better like Alexander-Arnold and Robertson. They play their game no matter what.
