When I lived in #Shanghai for 7 years, all locals speak Shanghainese, they love their local dialect, but TV, radio, schools are #Mandarin only, this is important as it’s the language that unites this diverse country of #China
#Mandarin is the most popular language around the world. Western families send their kids to Mandarin kindergartens, politicians like #DonaldTrump grandkids speak fluent Mandarin, but when #Chinese government enforces Mandarin in #China its consider a crime 🤔 #doublestandard

As it is obvious that the #Taiwanisation of #ROC drastically accelerated recently, it is probably a good time to share some songs that reflects on the ever-changing #Taiwan Identity & imagine what constitutes a decolonised #TaiwanAnthem that could better represent the people.

and a rather modern understanding of the difference between 'Nationality' (Japanese) and 'Ethnicity' (Han)「漢族血脈日本百姓」There is a history of Taiwanese making the distinction, because of the long historical mismatch between 'colonial nationality' and 'cultural affiliation'

Orang Malaysia sebenarnya berpotensi besar untuk jadi "multilingual" (mahir 3-6 bahasa) malah boleh jadi "polyglot" atau "hyperglot" (mahir 10-20 bahasa).
Sebab kita dari kecil dah didedahkan kepada pelbagai bahasa dari rumpun etnik yang berbeza, otak kita lebih mudah adapt kepada bahasa asing berbanding warga negara lain. Lainlah kalau kau membesar di Canada atau Australia jadi kau hanya pandai bahasa Anglais saja.
