The disconnect between the various elements of the healthcare system continues to blow me away. Very early this morning - at 30 minutes after midnight, an ambulance was called to bring a patient home from the hospital in Matane.
The disconnect between the various elements of the healthcare system continues to blow me away. Very early this morning - at 30 minutes after midnight, an ambulance was called to bring a patient home from the hospital in Matane.
The paramedics who brought the patient home were working a 7/14 shift* and because that call maxxed out their hours without a break, a CNESST-forced pause began at 01H this morning and didn't come to an end until 09H this morning.
That left the entire Matane response zone with only one team of paramedics from 01H until 07H15 this morning.

Les paramédics qui ont ramené le patient à la maison travaillaient sur un quart de travail 7/14* et comme cet appel a maximisé leurs heures sans interruption, une pause forcée de la CNESST a commencé à 01H ce matin et n'a pris fin qu'à 09H ce matin.
Cela a laissé toute la zone d'intervention de Matane avec une seule équipe des paramédics de 01H jusqu'à 07H15 ce matin.
