#MeettheMachines: DS850!

The DS850 is our high-speed vote counter, also known as Central Count. This machine counts all of the #absentee votes we get, processing as many as 300 ballots per minute! Image
Results from the DS850 are then stored on an encrypted, proprietary flash drive and input into our Election Returns software so we can upload our absentee votes when polls close. #DidYouKnow: The DS850 is able to sort ballots by normal, undervotes, overvotes, and write-ins.
Also, it sounds like a plane taking off when you turn it on, which we think is pretty rad.

The votes get printed onto a card, which is inserted into the DS200 for counting. It comes equipped with a touchscreen, a headphone jack to hear candidates, a port for a Sip-and-Puff or rocker switch, and tactile keyboard for those with physical impairments.
Did you know: Anybody can use the ExpressVote! Just ask the #election worker when you go to #vote. We'll also have it at the Auditor's Office for early voting!
