Quetzalcoatlus stood as tall as a giraffe, , had a 37-40 foot wingspan and weighed about 500-550 pounds. It was the largest known flying animal. Being that tall, it could look giant theropods in the eye, and combined with enormous wings, it could make itself look much larger than
it actually was. This is a defensive tactic that we see in nature all the time, from the blowfish that sucks in a lot of water to make itself balloon up, to a frilled lizard showing out its frills. Making yourself look much larger than normal can save you from predation.

When I made this battle, I had thought that Hatzegopteryx was as tall as a giraffe, as presented in the documentary series "Planet Dinosaur" (seen below)

Indeed, this would have made it about as tall as Quetzalcoatlus, another giant pterosaur (one that, contrary to the "Planet Dinosaur", had a bit bigger wingspan that Hatzegopteryx. Its depiction is below). ImageImage
