It’s a good idea to provide Ukraine 🇺🇦 with #MiG-29 fighters - they will limit Russia 🇷🇺 bombing innocent civilians.

The decision should not be made in #Warsaw alone - the responsibility lies with #NATO as a whole.

What would it take to get Ukraine those #MIGs? Short 🧵
(1/8)
Supplying Ukraine with #Mig29 will likely be seen by Russia as a significant step up in military help for Ukraine. Russia threatened unspecified retaliation. No one NATO country should be put under pressure to do it alone.
It shouldn't be matter for only bilateral 🇵🇱🇺🇸 conv.
In order to do it well, we need to do it together - as #NATO. All Allies should be heard, and all Allies should stand behind this decision.

Hello and welcome to September journal club! I’m Kathleen, PGY2 OBGYN resident at St. Luke’s in PA, and I’ll be your host for @AAGLJMIG journal club today. We’ll be discussing salpingectomy alone approach for risk reduction of ovarian cancer (see last tweet for link) #jmigjc
Throughout today and tomorrow, I’ll be posting about the article and responding to you in between cases and clinic. Hoping we can get some great discussion going! I’ll start with background this morning and return in the afternoon #jmigjc
As we all know, risk reducing salpingo-oophorectomy (RRSO) is recommended as the standard of case for patients with genetic dispositions to #OvarianCancer. The fallopian tube is now well established as site of origin for most ovarian cancers. #jmigjc

Some thoughts about this recent research letter.
Authors' argument: proportion of OBGYN residency grads working as generalists to US population is ⬇️ & this is a problem

I agree ⬇️ density of OBGYNs in underserved areas is a problem. BUT 1/

Authors don't ask WHY. Why are more grads pursuing fellowship / not working as generalists?

Traditional OBGYN practice is less sustainable now. Def from a physician work/life/$ balance standpoint but also - it's hard to provide truly high quality care as a generalist bc 2/
OBGYN is just such a broad field. Many trainees don't want to be a Jill of all trades but master of none. (me, that was me) Authors point out that more fellowship-trained surgeons = available for surgical volume & generalist practice may ➡️ more OB heavy

That's a good thing! 3/

For the #OBGYN community please watch the free AAGL #COVIDー19 webinar w/ global gyn surgeons from Seattle to Italy & S.Korea. Sobering glimpse for what’s to come nationwide. I have summarized international takeaways below:
S.Korea has implemented many strategies that’s helping to effectively #FlattenTheCurve:

1. National coordinated/organized response:
-Government OPENNESS, TRANSPARENCY.
-Medical COLLABORATION, COMMUNICATION, PASSION
-“United we stand, divided we fall”
2. Testing:
-Ubiquitous
-Relatively cheap (<$200)
-Results available in 4-6 hours, -Convenience-drive thru testing launched quickly
-Fast Isolation and Treatment

3. Tracking (controversial)
-All confirmed cases using surveillance cameras, car license plates & credit cards
