Let’s talk about the #millennial urge to adopt the personality of a manic pixie dream girl back in their early 20’s and then later identify as an empath in their 30’s.
You possibly grew up in a stressful and/or traumatic environment where you had to predict and manage another persons emotions in order to maintain physical/emotional safety. Scanning other’s emotions is your trauma superpower but it’s a double edge sword.
You are comfortable as the caretaker and continue to repeat this pattern in friendships/romantic relationships valuing other’s emotions and needs over your own.

1/4 In #Canada, young adults < 40 years of age have accounted for over 50% of #COVID19 cases over the past two weeks. Since early July, COVID-19 incidence has been highest among those aged 20- 29 years. #GenZ #Zoomer #GenY #Millennial
2/4 Although severe illness is less common in younger people, no age group is immune to #COVID19 severe outcomes. And spread in any age group builds a reservoir for the virus that threatens our ability to maintain epidemic control.
3/4 It’s important to keep the #COVID19 infection rate low across all age groups, to prevent sparking an outbreak or setting off a chain of transmission that could enter a population or setting at high-risk for severe outcomes.

#THREAD: I am at the #COMMA2017 content summit conference. I'll be discussing #ASEAN integration, the digital media landscape and the #millennial agenda.

What is the future of news and media in ASEAN?

Stay tuned!
#CeritalahASEAN started with Ceritalah 25 years ago in the early 90s - during the height of print media. In those days, The Economist, The Straits Times, The New York Times, were really flourishing. Much of the 80s and 90s, I met with and talked to editors across the world.
Those publications were really dynamic and powerful.

But we've seen those publications come down. WSJ stopped printing in Asia. Jakarta Globe stopped printing in 2015. KiniBiz, Volume in Thailand also stopped printing....

What has come up to replace those institutions?
