Those dumb enough to think Montana has a housing shortage instead of an overpopulation catastrophe are only going to make things worse by trying to build their way out of it.

Because #MTleg won't acknowledge the actual problem, affordability will continue to get even worse.
Acreage is not the only component of habitat. There simply isn’t enough water and there will always be another drought in Montana. That’s reality.

The constitutional allocation of water won’t change because it benefits the ultra wealthy.

Ignoring reality = awful public policy.
If the actual problem is successfully diagnosed, then easy #mtleg solutions become apparent.

Ending the importation of out-of-state college kids into the overpopulated towns of #Bozeman and #Missoula is a no-brainer.

And would save the $24m cost of the Gallatin College campus…

Last week bitterly cold air developed over east central Siberia, the likes of which we haven't seen in 40 years this early in December. It was chronicled very well by @ThierryGooseBC on December 6.

Ever since then the weather prediction models have been showing some crazy, downright silly numbers across Canada & the United States. I'm talking record high Mean Sea Level Pressure, both for December & ALL TIME. Here are those MSLP records from @NWSWPC researchers.

For those not used to reading these maps, the values shown are the last three digits of the MSLP. For example, in #Missoula the all-time highest surface pressure observed was 1059.9mb on January 1, 1979. The record for December was 1054.5mb on #ChristmasEve, 1983.

Taking a break from the #CapitolSiege to ask everyone a question I ponder ALL the time: Which urban neighborhoods bordering major waterfronts offer safe *pedestrian* access to the actual WATER—and preferably to long linear parks offering > 1000’/300m of continuous water access?
I've spent MANY hours looking at Google Maps for ways to walk to the river from residential neighborhoods in cities all over the U.S. Access is TERRIBLE. I'm sooo envious of #Vancouver, BC. It's frustrating how cut off we are by seawalls, railroads, industry, private homes... /2
Hood River is an incredible town, and it’s the undisputed windsurfing capital of Earth. But, just like ALL of Oregon’s Columbia River towns, I-84 completely severs all possible pedestrian connections between residential areas and the river itself. /3
