[1/14] β€œShe needed surgery in a small town. There was a naxalite attack nearby. I was helpless”

A short story 🧡
#MothersDay2022
[2/14] I was in class 7/8th. During the summer vacations there was a naxalite attack some 100 kms away my home town. They had disrupted some power transmission by a big attack.
Effect: There would be no power supply in the entire district for almost 2 weeks.
[3/14]The repair of the lines needed time plus the fear of naxalites further delayed line men from trying to go there. Being a kid it wasn’t an issue for us. But one night my mother started screaming in pain. I never had seen her cry like this.

Choosing to be childfree is surrounded with taboo and stigma. So I wanted to make sure my essay was available in both of my languages: English πŸ‘‡πŸ½#MothersDay2022

I am childfree by choice. Happily so.

I published this on last year's #MothersDay. And here it is again for #MothersDay2022

I have had two abortions. I did not want to have children. I was not raped. I was not sick. The pregnancies did not threaten my life. I just did not want to be pregnant.

It took me 25 years to write about my abortions.

The few abortion narratives that are considered β€œacceptable” are often prefaced with trauma and painβ€”as if they were the price to be exacted for bodily autonomy.

It is important to share abortion stories that say simply: #IDidNotWantToBePregnant

God is always willing and able to do beyond our imagination.

God can move us from scarcity level to surplus for He is a God of more than enough
Scarcity: deficient in quantity, not easily come by.
- When it is intentionally absent.

Surplus: amount that remain when needs is satisfied.

Procedures to follow from moving from scarcity to surplus.
1. Identify your real asset
- You are never left with nothing.
- When you have Jesus, you have the real asset.
- Money may no b enough, but God can move in a way beyond our imagination whether we have or not.
- Know that it is not everyone that will b willing to assist you.
- When we do not have a way put, God always have way.
