In about 1850, a shunga artist of the Utagawa school created a toy print where you could customise which vulva you'd like to see. 
The discerning appreciator could add one of a selection of five vulvas to the print, depending on mood or fancy.
On the rear side of the panels, each vulva had a name. The vulvas were called:

-Good
-Slut

Meet Realdo Colombo. In 1559, this Italian anatomist claimed to have discovered the clitoris, then promptly died (for unrelated reasons)
We'll start by saying that obviously, Colombo didn't discover the clitoris. Anyone with one probably noticed it was there, since it's RIGHT THERE.
It also wasn't like Colombo was the first anatomist to point out the clitoris - it was known since antiquity among Greek, Persian and Arabic anatomists, on account of it being RIGHT THERE.

These knickers appear in our #Muffbusters exhibition, and we get a lot of feedback from people who didn't know that it happens, or why it happens or fel relieved to learn it wasn't just them. So let us tell you this: it's normal.
We've also been asked a few times how we "made" the bleached knickers for our exhibition - we didn't. They're real pairs of pants from real people.
