Impetus Grants are $10k-500k (w max 10% overhead). Smaller requests favored, to support more projects. No project period and no strings attached. Scientists at non-profits worldwide can apply with ideas that shift perspectives & capabilities in #Aging research, starting Sep 13th.
Inspiration came from @tylercowen & @patrickc's #COVID19 Fast Grants. Their team made funding decisions in 2 weeks, and the grants have already led to both discoveries and better tools for #testing.

Multimorbidity(MM), the co-occurrence of multiple, chronic conditions, where none is more central, is the norm worldwide. MM challenges the person and clinicians in a fragmented healthcare system, aided by single disease guidelines. #medtwitter soundcloud.com/bmjpodcasts/wh…
Complexity in MM vary and relate to conditions, individual & social context. I aimed to investigate clinically relevant measures of MM and how socioeconomic position (SEP), a known complicating context, related to these in prevalence distribution and joint impact on mortality.
1. Pity that the @rtenews focus on the @IMO_IRL deal on FEMPI restoration is on extension of the GMS to 6-12 when that is not actually agreed, just an agreement to negotiate. Misses really key positive elements
2. €2 million funding for GPs working in high deprivation areas like @deepend_ireland A major step for the health service in recognising the need to address #healthinequalities deepend.ie
3. GP support to implement an Individual Health Identifier. Needed to unlock the potential of data for research that can drive improved patient care @hrbireland @astaines
