#Investors should avoid knee-jerk reaction as the investigation is still underway & @AxisMutualFund has already sacked the concerned officials from their responsibilities.

Impacted #mutualfund schemes (image enclosed) haven't been recommended by us at #MasterMindFinnAsset (1/n) Image
Extent of notional losses that may have occurred to the #investors in these schemes can only be estimated after the probe. Investors may have to wait for further action, disclosures & announcements from the fund house & the regulator around this matter.(2/n) #axismutualfund
Unfortunately @AxisMutualFund is witnessing knee-jerk reaction of #investors via redemptions or stoppage of SIPs/ STPs. Focus of facts not rumors about the management. Such rumors have been there from past 2 years for @FTIIndia as well. (3/n)

Time & again most #MFDs & FT itself letting Actual Investors of these 6 schemes know that even in times of #COVID they have accumulated more than ₹11000 crores without #monetization but still few people are having unnecessary doubts. (2)
I personally believe that if #History will be written, the #historians will focus on the solution not on the problem.

Saying Yes, to both Winding Up Consent & Active #Monetization is only & solely in the best possible move for #investors. (3)

Total AUM: 1,35,217Crs (AUM: Asset Under Management, size of the funds)
Top 25 stocks: Ranging from 70-90% holding

5 yr: Again only 2 could outperform.
7 yr: 7 could outperform

Here is the real fun:
I was trying to understand the reasons, what has happened during the last 5 years that caused this underperformance? Mind it we are looking for relative performance against index so things like economy did not perform will not cut the ice

Franklin has shut down 6 debt mutual fund schemes due to illiquidity in market stopping buy/sell of units in these funds. Doesn't it put q on experts who suggest to hold just 3-4 scheme in portfolio. True saying - Never keep all eggs in one basket. #mutualfunds #market #franklin
Put together, almost 26000 crore rupees of investors are stuck in these 6 schemes. These all belong to debt schemes so higher chances that most of the money stuck belongs to retail investors. (2/n)
All these 6 funds are rated with 5 stars by Morningstar rating agency. In 2008 crisis all mortgages and CDO were triple ace rated by S&P, Moody's & Fitch. History repeats itself and average customer is trapped. Sad story #MutualFundsSahiHai ? #franklintempleton #mutualfunds (3/n)

Trading is what smart people use for making good money out of markets. However, to save & grow the money, #MutualFundSahiHai

Start early.

To get 1 crore at age 60 assuming 12% rate of interest -

It only costs SIP of Rupees 1550 at age 25, which continued till 60 makes 1 Crore
Every delay in 5 years of starting sip makes us invest almost double. Let Compound interest work in our favour and not against us.

Check the calculations at elearnmarkets.com/calculator
Keep increasing the SIP amount to reach goals quicker.

Stay invested to achieve your goals. #coronavirus or US Iran war won't impact you in the long term.

This post is a crash course on promoter funding, which serves as a bedrock for my next post.

Promoter funding/ financing, is the colloquial term used for raising of debt funds by Promoters of companies usually against the security/ comfort of shares. Thread 1/13
A promoter, many a times, needs money for (a) equity infusion in a new/ growing business, (b) personal use (c) enhancing stake in established business (d) family settlement etc.

If he doesn't have enough cash at his disposal, he borrows from finance firms. 2/13
The most liquid and widely accepted collateral/ security for these borrowings are shares of established (usually listed) companies.

These shares are pledged to the financing firm (or a trustee) to avail of the debt facility. 3/13

(1/n) Among many things addressed today in Finance Minister's Meet with Press, she addressed there will be development of Credit Default Swap (CDS) Markets in consultation with @SEBI and @RBI RBI. This step was taken following the credit events of IL&FS, DHFL etc in past yr
@sebi @RBI (2/n) Now what is Credit Default Swap (CDS)/ Markets?
CDS is kind of an insurance against a risk of default on a loan by a company. Company – reference entity, default – credit event.
@sebi @RBI (3/n)Why will a seller do that? Coz under such contract buyer will pay a regular amt to seller 4 protection he has bought for his bond, incase of a credit event. Seller will gain incase there is no credit event since he has got regular payment from buyer for his ‘protection’.
