1/ The new student member of #NACIQI, @ADelekta, is pretty familiar with the @usedgov, having served as a "confidential assistant" to Diane Auer Jones from Jan. to Aug. 2019.

2/ She was just recently named to #NACIQI so her bio hasn't been added to the advisory committee's website. But her LinkedIn profile says she is a law school candidate at the U. of Michigan and was an intern @Heritage
3/ She is also featured in this 2016 NYT article, speaking out against students protesting the election of President Trump -- at the time she was political director of College Republicans on U. Mich's campus : nytimes.com/2016/12/08/us/…

At #NACIQI this morning, which has five new members, and where Diane Auer Jones is here this morning providing an update on new regulations going into effect in July of this year
Diane Auer Jones does a victory lap on breaking the artificial distinction between regional and national agencies, congratulating WASC for taking the first step, saying they are not the easy accreditor, they are the innovative one #NACIQI
DAJ says @usedgov will send out a letter to states alerting them that where their laws rely on the regional distinction, it no longer exists. Cannot compel states to change their laws but can encourage it #NACIQI

Buenos días from #NACIQI meeting! @TheToniFlores and I are here to let you know what's going on. Up next: Diane Auer Jones from @usedgov
@TheToniFlores @usedgov Jones highlights the elimination of the "artificial" distinction between regional and national accreditors, congratulates WASC for doing so. Jones doesn't think this will encourage institutions to go for the "easier" accreditor, but consumer advocates think otherwise. #NACIQI
Pre-accredited status is the same as accredited status, argues Jones. I'm wondering why there is a "pre-" status then...Accreditors only award pre-accredited status if they're "pretty darn sure" the institution can be awarded accredited status. #NACIQI
