NEW from me @TheSpectator:

@HomelandGOP, led by #NC08's @RepDanBishop and #TN07's @RepMarkGreen, is demanding answers from TSA after the massive data breach

Here's what they want TSA to answer ASAP

#NC08's @RepDanBishop and #TN07's @RepMarkGreen are investigating @TSA to work out how a prolific Swiss hacker who identifies as a “tiny kitten” was able to obtain over a million entries from the No-Fly List.

thespectator.com/topic/house-re…

The hacker was able to access a 2019 version of the list after what she described as just a few hours!

Following the hack, @HomelandGOP's @RepDanBishop immediately suggested that @HouseGOP planned to learn how this data was left so exposed.

Trump's tax evasion scheme is nothing compared to the 350 American companies hoarding corporate cash offshore.

There are more companies cheating all Americans out of paying their fair share in taxes.

Small mom & pop businesses are not on the list. They (we) are the backbone of the U.S. We need to end #citizensunited & #lobbying in our politics. The imbalance of taxes and loopholes is staggering.

Hey, @BillCassidy you were on @ThisWeekABC claiming the "Inflation Reduction Act of 2022" will raise taxes on those making less than $200,000 and referred to the Joint Committee on Taxation for this claim. Can you provide where @JCTgov stated this? I can't find it. /1
According to the Editors at Bloomberg @opinion

"this is a sober attempt at fiscal responsibility"

"this compromise would be a big win...for the US Taxpayer. As America's loquacious president once said in another context, it's a big effing deal." /2

It allows Medicare to negotiate prescription drug costs. A savings of $288 billion over 10 years for Taxpayers. It's almost like you want to protect Big Pharma profits.

Could this be why you are a NO?🤔 /3

It's fitting that today marks both #JuneteenthDay and #FathersDay.

Maybe we should talk a bit about that intersection.

In June of 1865, 3 months after the end of the war and 2 and 1/2 years after the Emancipation proclamation was signed. Finally, on June 19, 1865, #NC08

General Order No. 3 was issued which freed enslaved people in Texas. Finally, free at last.

How many enslaved fathers were there that couldn't be with their children? How many families did that forever impact? #NC08

How many black fathers now are impacted by American governance? The name George Floyd comes to mind. #nc08

My QANON Republican opponent @RepDanBishop is bitching about high gas prices with NO PLAN. Here is my plan:
1. Invoke Defense production Act to increase US refining capacity.
2. Limit Oil Exports.
3. Oil Barons public land lease. USE IT OR LOSE IT.
/1

#nc08
We invoke the defense production act and increase refining capacity in the US. Halt export of refined fuels. We continue export of crude. We set a specific time for the Oil companies to produce capacity on the public land. If they can't meet the time, they lose it.
/2

#nc08
Going forward focus on clean energy, solar, wind, nuclear. Break our addiction to OIL. This way we create clean energy jobs, and we save the planet. Dan Bishop doesn't have a plan. Voted against price gouging and then blames @Potus who doesn't control gas prices.

We have a National teacher shortage. The teachers we have are spending their own money on school supplies. The teachers we do have are working unpaid overtime every day. The teachers we do have are expected and.... #nc08

required to teach an entire class of students of grossly separate levels of understanding and abilities while also dealing with a significant minority who have individual education plans. Now some morons what to add to this by arming teachers? Are these people insane? #nc08

Our school systems overwork and underpay these folks now, and you want to add to this? Where will they be trained? Will this police training be added to their degree program thus adding to the financial burden of their education? #nc08

hello! While we're waiting for more presidential results, I thought I'd give you an update on the House. @DecisionDeskHQ projects that Republicans have won back 5 seats on net so far. Rs flipped 7 seats and Dems won back 2 thanks to redistricting in NC businessinsider.com/2020-house-ele…
Seats projected to flip D to R, per @DecisionDeskHQ

#IA01 ( Finkenauer)
#FL26 (Mucarsel-Powell)
#FL27 (Shalala)
#MN07 (Peterson)
#NM02 (Torres Small)
#OK05 ( Horn)
#SC01 (Cunningham)

Others to keep an eye on as more votes are counted: #CA21, #CA39, #NY11, #NY22, #UT04
Democrats have also fallen short on many of their offensive targets to flip R-held seats: their most promising pickup opportunity is #GA07, where @DecisionDesk HQ has not projected a winner and we should (hopefully!) get more clarity today as more votes are counted/reported

1/33 Sorry for long thread, but I want to post this before E-Day:

I've worked for years on an unfinished project to draw nonpartisan congressional maps for every state to analyze gerrymandering. This map shows the 2016 pres margin by hypothetical district. State maps to follow.
2/33 Hypothetical nonpartisan Alabama congressional map with two Voting Rights Act districts (#AL02 & #AL07). Second map shows two Black-majority districts to illustrate a VRA liability.
3/33 Hypothetical nonpartisan Arizona congressional map.

Getting this thread going on what races to donate to….

Right now, 44 days out, is the best time to donate. A few states are early voting. Voters are paying attention and can still register.

Campaigns can still hire staff and pay for strategic, targeted ads and mailers.
Money thrown at races in Oct goes into media spin. Unclear if it's effective at persuasion.

Millions of $$$ from out of state donors, raised by national orgs, doesn't mean your race is competitive. So it's doubly important for us to pick a few races/states and be strategic.
It's sweet to ragedonate for RBG. But it's smarter to flip the Senate, cement the House majority, and win key states in the electoral college. All states and races aren't equal.

A few thousand $ to a House race or $1 million to an underfunded Senate race can make the difference.

New at @CookPolitical: House rating changes in 20 districts, all towards Democrats. I can’t recall the last time we moved so many races at once, let alone in the same direction.
More @CookPolitical: for the first time this cycle, Democrats have at least as good a chance of picking up House seats as Republicans on a net basis. cookpolitical.com/analysis/house…

NEW at @CookPolitical: 10 rating changes (7 towards Ds, 3 towards Rs) as Democrats' edge in the battle for the House grows...
Basically, #COVID19 has all but frozen House recruitment & severely curtailed fundraising. That's an advantage for incumbents & bad news for upstates.

At end of 2019, median House D in a Trump district had $1.8 million cash on hand while median leading R challenger had $247,000.
Today, we've moved four freshman Dems out of Toss Up based on the weakness of their GOP opposition:

#IL14 Lauren Underwood (D) - Toss Up to Lean D
#MI08 Elissa Slotkin (D) - Toss Up to Lean D
#NY19 Antonio Delgado (D) - Toss Up to Lean D
#UT04 Ben McAdams (D) - Toss Up to Lean D

Big: the new map the #NCGA just passed is an insurance policy for Dems' House majority. It effectively gifts Dems two additional seats in 2020 (#NC02 & #NC06).

And, a pending Dem lawsuit against it could put one *more* seat in play, giving Dems/Pelosi even more insurance.
So why are Dems suing to invalidate a new map that converts a 10R-3D map to an 8R-5D map? Because they have nothing to lose: a map drawn by a special court-appointed master would only get even better for them vs. the remedial map just drawn by the GOP-led #NCGA.
The key region in dispute? Fayetteville, Robeson Co., & the Sandhills. The new R-drawn map still divides Dem votes there between #NC08 & #NC09 to protect two R incumbents who live in the far-away Charlotte suburbs.
