THOUGHTS ON NDDC : I read through this to know the Senate's resolution on the back of the #NDDCProbe in the National assembly and so many things come to mind. NDDC's birth in 2000 during former president Obasanjo's regime was supposed to right the wrongs made under...
OMPADEC in the 90s but here we are, still digging the hole we found ourselves after two decades. Corruption has now become so endemic in our nation that we pilfer huge public funds with reckless abandon. We like to blame the elite and the govt for the sorry state of...
the country while so many of us are just waiting for our turns to be in public positions and become rogues. Let's be clear here - 20 years of NDDC have had many key grassroots' actors from the Niger Delta region who would supposedly understand the plight of the people....

Dear Niger Deltans,

I know you are not cowards. I know you are not weaklings. I know you have the blood of Ken Saro Wiwa running in your veins. Few people have not only stole the NDDC fund, but have stolen the future development of the entire region.

Demand for answers.
These are some of the most damning revelations from the #NDDCProbe:

"People collect contracts for the same roads from the state government, from FERMA and then they come to NDDC and collect the same road project”-

~Former Acting MD Joi Nunieh
According to Godswill Akpabio:

"$70million of NDDC money was stored in a commercial bank since 2006-

• N170 million NDDC funds abandoned in a bank for years-

• Some banks deliberately withhold money belonging to NDDC-

Dear Niger Deltans,

Many of us that have lived in the region, & had access to some of the villages in the Niger Delta pretty well know the level of poverty, suffering & Ignorance in that region. All these, thanks to the negligence of not the governments over time, but a few
people among you. For instance, you go to Ajoki Community where some multinational oil companies are drilling oil wells, making billions daily, yet you see the average man there spending his whole day at the beer parlor while his wife & daughter are in the farm. His son? He is
holding weapon agitating for resource control or fully armed as a militant. In any instances, we come out to condemn the government's negligence because if the govt were serious, it would avoid taking development there via third parties. But NDDC isn't a third party. Left to me,

Still On This NDDC Probe of a thing.

#Soon and very soon, some "foolish youths" will be out on the streets protesting against the "treatment" meted out to Akpabio and the dramatic prof.

Soon and very soon, it will be swept under the carpet.

Soon and very soon, Image
Akpabio will be back in his office doing business as usual.

Soon and very soon, all those indicted in the House Of Rep as being beneficiaries of the NDDC National cake will also be back doing business as usual.

At the end, and as usual, this would have been a wasted effort.
Is this how we "go de siddon dey look?"

Where are the elders of the Niger Delta?
Why are they not saying anything?
Why have they been so quiet thus far?
Are they also eating off the NDDC National Cake?
What is the matter with everyone?

Honestly, I hate it when we call upon

Nnamdi Azikiwe once faced a 'probe', like this b4 1960. And something dramatic happened between an Akwa Ibom man and one Igbo man.
The #NDDCProbe reminds me of the story.
#Thread
So just like Sen. Akpabio and Prof. Daniel b4 the House of Representatives #NDDCProbe ongoing, Zik faced corruption charges in England brought by Zik's rival 'Eyo Uyo' from today's Akwa Ibom.

It was about the bank, ACB which Zik was accused of owning thru a proxy.
One other Igbo man was to testify; a highly respected nationalist called Mazi Ojike Mbonu, known for his high moral standards.

According to history, Zik was clearly complicit.

To forestall Mbonu covering things up, Eyo Uyo and his fellow Ibibio/Efiks had done this...

Acting MD NDDC just slumps in the middle of questioning by the House of reps. We dey watch ooo NOW YOU KNOW WHERE YOUR PROBLEM IS COMING FROM. If we want to fight corruption, we can we just don’t want to cooperate with the President ...... 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️
Please don't die first, before answering the questions. After you have given all the information needed, you can die in peace, biko.

I hope Niger Deltans are keeping record.

Few days ago before the earthshaking revelation in NDDC, Bello Elrufai, made a tweet and stated to the effect that instead of Niger Deltans to concentrate on their woes, they are busy dragging his friends, who were seen brandishing 'wealth'.
In reacting to the ugly state of Niger Delta, that has now become a sore to behold, I made reference to that uncharitable remark from Bello. I went further to inform him that the wealth he now enjoys comes from Niger Delta.
A certain character by name @Waspapping_, quoted my thread on the plight of Niger Delta and reacted in the most brazen and unintelligible way.

Because it was of essence I put him in the know, I took special pains to remonstrate to him that he was most misguided.
