BIG THREAD: Today hundreds of members of the all-Black "Not Fucking Around Coalition" (#NFAC) marched through #Lafayette, Louisiana.
The group was protesting threats directed at them by U.S. Rep. Clay Higgins on Facebook, and the police shooting of Trayford Pellerin.

Just as the group began their march from Lafayette Public Library to Parc Sans Souci, two shots rang out at the Parc.
One was arrested and charged with reckless discharge of a firearm at a parade or demonstration, and felon in possession of a firearm.

A number of opposing militia groups are also here, setting up across the parade route.

Police erected barricades that track the entire planned #NFAC march route. Theoretically, the group will march to Parc San Souci which is only a few blocks away.

Following a confrontation, the militia group retreated. The counter-protesters celebrated, including chants of "No justice, no derby!"
It was only after the right-wing side of the conflict retreated that police entered the area in a riot formation.

As the right argued with the left outside the courthouse, it sometimes escalated into violence. It was relatively mild (pushing, etc) but at least two people unholstered handguns.

A couple dozen members of the âNational Patriotic Defense Teamâ Militia are gathering about four miles from downtown #Louisville.
Another right-wing militia group is currently reportedly rallying up about ten miles away as well.

One guy parked what the members called his âbattle vanâ complete with barbed wire on the front and surrounding his belongings in the back.

Today at the National Action Network's March on DC, the "Not F***ing Around Coalition" (NFAC) militia gathered in front of the MLK Jr. Memorial.
While they usually carry pistols and rifles, today they carried knives, a machete, empty pistol holsters, and wore bulletproof vests.

Today about 500 armed activists with the all-black "Not Fucking Around Coalition" aka "NFAC" gathered to march in #Louisville for #BreonnaTaylor.
As they were getting ready, one member accidentally fired a shot, injuring three. This was captured in my livestream.

After the shooting, the #NFAC formed a perimeter around the scene at Baxter Park. They allowed police and EMS in to tend to the three wounded, who were taken away in stretchers. I've seen it reported that the injuries are "not life threatening."
Police recovered the firearm that apparently was accidentally discharged. I don't believe the individual was arrested.

So if some #threepercenters do show up, know that the @courierjournal & others who reported based on weak evidence provided credibility via advertising it. If there is an unfortunate conflict, it could reasonably be stated negligent reporting stirred the pot unnecessarily.

I havenât seen an extremely precise explanation as to what the III%âera goals are out here, but generally theyâve been using graphics like this to push an opposition to the NFAC itself.
