I'm tired of reading lies about a wonderful warm kind human being.

This is who @jeremycorbyn is. 👇🏻

Thread:

An ex service gentleman meets @jeremycorbyn they talk about the help ex soliders need
And end the conversation with him telling Jeremy
"I love you mate
You're a star"
"Look around this crowd
We are young, old,
We are Black,
We are White,
We're disabled,
We're LBGTQ
We are the whole wonderful mosaic of diversity& inclusion

Racism divides
When you've created that sense of hate
You haven't built a house,
You haven't built a school" @jeremycorbyn
"Forty-two years ago, antifascists beat back a violent, far-right mob that had descended on a diverse neighborhood of North London.

Among the antifascist organizers was a young Labour councillor named @jeremycorbyn."

NHS pay. One Team, your say. A quick thread on ballot info for UNISON branches and activists. Hopefully you've seen our latest on this but we know it's helpful for you to know what we're thinking and what we're doing, not just what we're saying.

So, off we go.

🧵
First up, headlines. Key info for members.

3% #NHSPayRise for England is unacceptable:
❌doesn't increase pay by £2k for any band below 8c
❌stretches gap between highest & lowest paid
❌doesn't embed real #LivingWage as minimum

How did we reach that conclusion? Our lead NHS committee (the HSGE, to give them their full, catchy, title) met on Friday to assess the pay outcome.
Their assessment is part of the branch briefing we've published today: unison.org.uk/content/upload…

#NHSpay a thread: It doesn’t matter what you think about the 3% offer for NHS staff, it simply isn’t affordable within the existing NHS budget, which is a problem as the gov doesn’t seem prepared to make any extra funds available to increase it [1/13 - sorry]
A 3% increase to staff pay would cost around ÂŁ1.9bn if applied to all staff employed by NHS trusts (hospitals, community and mental health services). This would be higher if it was also applied to staff at GP practices and other contracted-out services [2/13]
In March the gov offered 1% (cost ~ÂŁ600m) & before covid had pencilled in 2.1% (ÂŁ1.3bn). Covid *has* changed things, but pay is only the tip of that iceberg. Even if we had 0 covid, the best case scenario for this yr is the NHS would overspend the orig plan by around ÂŁ6bn [3/13]

Seeing some confusion about NHS pay rises this evening, and the policy nerd in me is twitching. Here's a step through... 1/16
Doctors’ and Dentists’ pay is decided by government, once they receive recommendations from the Doctors’ and Dentists’ Pay Review Body (DDRB). Other staff – employed on the NHS contract, Agenda for Change (AfC) – have the NHS Pay Review Body (NHSPRB) for the same process. 2/16
Various stakeholders submit evidence to these review bodies. Today, DHSC submitted theirs. And it’s not gone down well. 3/16
