Here's what I've come to suspect. Wokeness don kill many pioneer Buharists. Most pre-2015 Buharists, esp intellectuals, were not grounded in reality. They had a romanticised view of @MBuhari and the rigours of governance when they, unsolicited, clothed him with a messiah complex.
With heads in the clouds, they became quickly disillusioned once he became @NGRPresident and they realised he had no wand to wave to conjure up the #Utopia of their dreams. As time wore on & it became evident that he could not call forth the things that be not as if they were...
...their disappointment (often born, not of enlightened comparative analysis of leadership in Nigeria) ripened to hatred for their man. Worse, such persons found themselves targets of vicious 'dragging' on social media by agents provocateurs of the former irredeemable regimes...

The few times President Buhari sat down for interviews since 2015, he often makes a case against the ELITES as the root cause of Nigeria’s problem. This is erroneous and potentially dangerous. I will elucidate. THREAD
Buhari believes the problem of Nigeria at the moment is the elites which is parochial. Elites is defined as "small group of powerful people who hold a disproportionate amount of wealth, privilege, political power, or skill in a society." He equates elites to the political class.
He doesn’t know that elites includes the rich people who don’t have anything to do with politics, the skilled professionals who make money in tens of millions, the millennials running their startups who haven’t even voted before or have any interest in politics.
