Folks, an appeal:

Last year, some Rethink Aadhaar members created @Article21_Ind as an engine that could power further struggles to counter the impact of #Aadhaar and other civil technologies on human rights – in particular the right to life, liberty, and livelihood...
We find ourselves facing complex questions which will someday seek resolution in the highest courts in our country, just as the Aadhaar project did. Among these are questions of citizenship in the age of digital identities thrown up by #NRCassam...
questions of the power of the state in relation to citizens, even as India prepares to build its “Health Stack” comprising citizens’ medical data tied to a singular identifying number; and questions of “datafication” of citizens as we engage with the prospects of a data economy.

#NRCAssam It's surprising (actually it isn't) to see a tome of opinion seeking to justify illegal migration into Assam. Isn't Assam a part of India? Illegal migration into Assam impllies illegal migration into India too (1/n)
There was an obnoxious piece of legislation Illegal Migrants (Determination by Tribunals) Act enacted in the 1980s. The name of law itself --Illegal Migrants-- recgonised the enormity of the problem more than three decades ago (2/n)

I heard @AmitShah say those not on #NRCAssam are ‘ghuspaith’ or infiltrators. My cousin a top Guwahti doctor , her mother, my uncle in Tezpur are all now branded that?? This despite giving all papers. What mental torture
They are of course Bengalis and not assamese. Is that the issue?
All those saying just produce papers, those not on list HAD shown papers!! My family is sick of being pushed around. Some left assam when ulfa threats happened, will that happen again? #NRC

A man has 4 sons, one is living a luxurious life, well educated, well dressed, has enough money and resources for his coming generations. Second son is doing okay in life, earns a stable amount, makes his ends meet. (1/5)

Third one can barely make his ends meet. He is uneducated, poor and earns just enough for one meal.
Fourth son is so poor that he can't even afford basic necessities in life. If he is not supported now, he'll anyway die. #NRCForSecureIndia (2/5)
In this situation, is it okay for the father to adopt a fifth son?
Will it be fair for the other kids, who are his prime responsibility?
Will it be okay to give his kids share of resources to someone he is not even obliged to? (3/5)
