#HongKong pro-democracy veteran Albert Ho has been arrested again and had his court bail ceased. Several media reported that he may contact Andrew Chiu's family in an attempt to send a message to the defendant-turn-witness in #NSL47 case.
Chiu has always been controversial... Image
1/ You may probably know him b/c of this incident happened in Taikoo at the height of #antielab protest back in 2019.

People outside the core of #HongKong politics may sympathise with him and give subsequent recognition.

That's not quite the case for those in the field. Image
2/ Chiu was well-known for 2 things among people in #HongKong politics. 1) His questionable doctoral degree & 2) His biz dealings w/ pro-#Peking politicians.

His honourary degree is awarded by SABI university, a known diploma mill. Still, he insisted on his doctoral title. Image

The Witness documented the no. of days that the #NSL47 are on remand in custody where they await trials. Most of them have been in jail for >700 days for charges they have not been convicted of, while some released on bail continue to be watched in their daily lives.
The number continues to add up and the time in custody nearly has no foreseeable end. During this time, they were seen as no less than a criminal. Some were held in solitary confinement with questionable health conditions. They are #PoliticalPrisoners in #HongKong - just say it.

Hardly any information is made public in the #NSL47 case. For those detained, there are restrictions on reporting bail proceedings. Those on bail are subject to stringent conditions: they can be arrested and detained again for so much as a post on social media. (THREAD)
The result: the #NSL47 have disappeared in plain sight. The public has no idea of the progress of the case against their own elected representatives.

The newest NPC decision over the HK electoral system = a material change in circumstance in which none of these primary runners would even go through the screening by Beijing to run in any future elections.
(Risking to get this aired) Long-hair’s rep: my D is a 大中華膠 + 和理非.
