"I want to ask people, have you totally gone mad? Do you want to live in the kind of a place where you can't open your mouth and express an opinion about a film without being attacked and threatened? Is that where you want to live?"

#NadavLapid speaks for millions.
I also love how #NadavLapid chose to respond to the Israeli ambassador with "I'm embarrassed of the ambassador that he would say such a thing."

People are acting like he is answerable to ambassadors and he's reminding people that actually the ambassador is answerable to him.
In a democracy, ambassadors work for the voters. #NadavLapid is right in responding like a free human being in a democracy would. Who the fuck is the ambassador to lecture him? India's authoritarian indoctrination leaves bhakts unable to see this point. Thinking it's a rebuke.

Unfortunately @NaorGilon’s statement is too “diplomatic” and fails to actually take a stand.

What #NadavLapid did was holocaust denial. To make it about being a good guest implies Lapid was right but needed to be polite.

This is a fail from the ambassador.
False. Read what he says.

He’s upset that people are doubting Schindlers List and he is condemning that people are making that parallel.

He is not likening the Kashmir genocide to the holocaust.
Here’s what Gilon is telling Lapid.

1. You should have been a good guest
2. India is supporting Israel films so be pragmatic
3. He is upset at Indian comments doubting holocaust films as a result of Lapid’s words.
4. He doesn’t know enough history to take a stand on #KF

An open letter to #NadavLapid following his criticism of #KashmirFiles. It’s not in Hebrew because I wanted our Indian brothers and sisters to be able to understand. It is also relatively long so I’ll give you the bottom line first. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED. Here’s why:
1. In Indian culture they say that a guest is like God. You have abused in the worst way the Indian invitation to chair the panel of judges at @IFFIGoa as well as the trust, respect and warm hospitality they have bestowed on you.
2. Our Indian friends brought @lioraz and @issacharoff from @FaudaOfficial in order to celebrate the love in #India towards #Fauda and #Israel. I suspect that this is maybe also one of the reasons they invited you as an Israeli and me as the ambassador of Israel.
