1. Make time for movement.🏃🏾 Wait for the crossfire to end & avoid checkpoints and roaming militias. Better yet, don't move; meditate while sheltering in place.🧘🏾 Image
2. Set boundaries between your work & your personal life.🧱 Reinforce them with sand bags. Consider getting a guard dog.🐕‍🦺
3. Connect with people you care about. These may be people who own a generator or people with fuel to run a generator. Barter with food.🍞

The spiritual meaning of Namaste is profound Particularly in Hinduism, Gods are worshiped by closing the eyes and joining the palms in reverence, which indicates the recognition of their divinity.

'While paying obeisance to God, bring the palms together. After joining the hands
one should bow and bring the head forward. While tilting the head forward, one should place the thumbs at the mid-brow region, i.e. at the point between the eyebrows and try to concentrate on the feet of the Deity. After that, instead of bringing the folded hands down immediately
they should be placed on the mid-chest region for a minute in such way that the wrists touch the chest; then only should the hands be brought down.

The fingers should not be stiff while bringing the palms together because this will lead to a decrease in Sattva component from the

Thread: @RepJeremyGray. #Namaste! Thank you for being a voice of reason for this bill. Yes, #yoga has its roots and its tied to Hinduism. But, Hindus have never imposed their beliefs on anyone. So...1/n time.com/5946284/alabam…
...there is no need for people to be "allergic" to yoga, Namaste, mantras, chanting, Sanskrit words, etc. Hindus have shared yoga as a gift to make the world a more peaceful and harmonious place - something that is much needed in our society today. 2/n
Stripping "Namaste" away is an unfortunate attempt to de-link an indigenous practice from its roots and an example of #Culturalappropriation. We stand against such attempts and encourage people to acknowledge the roots while sharing in the benefits of this wonderful gift. 3/n

The paucity and stupidity of #India's official Government response to the scale of the #Coronavirus epidemic is shown by 2 tweets from Union Cabinet Ministers, Both seek to divert attention away from the enormous problem of 3 million cases, and a pole-axed economy. First, 1/5

A short story
When Suheldev defeated the whole army of Turks and everyone was killed...The Indians went to revive and reconstruct Somnathji temple of Mahadev
A question was asked by Suheldev then to the crowd gathered for the ceremony (1) Image

If Lord Shiva is present everywhere, every pore of this universe has Lord Shiva in it then

What was the point of rebuilding this temple?

Everyone was silent, then Suheldev spoke
"The rebuilding of Somnathji is a statement! A statement to the world! Image

Many of our fellow ancient culture have died out. Nobody in Rome believes in Roman Gods anymore. Nobody in Greece worships in the Greek temples anymore. The ancient Egyptian culture has been forsaken by the Egyptians themselves. Image

Sanatan Dharma – A religion based on science

1/n
Ancient India, the land of Vedas and Upanishads. The land of culture, traditions, purity of thoughts and a religion that is based on science. Fasting, celebrations, festivals, even our daily routine is based on science. Image

Let me point a few things that we follow that are considered religious but are based on science. Our sages entwined science into religion in such a way that a common man can follow scientific rules to stay healthy.

Namaste, the traditional Indian greeting, putting your palms together and bowing your head slightly has made a comeback.

The other day Prince Charles was seen, greeting important people with Namaste. That's a sea change even though it’s under special circumstances.

1/7
There was a time when all Indian/Hindu customs and traditions were considered as superstition by the West in general. Even useful ones were discarded without examining.
A classic case of throwing the baby out with the bath water.

2/7
So what does Namaste mean? Is it merely a meaningless gesture?

Namaste is done with the head slightly bowed and hands joined together, palms touching and fingers pointing upwards. Thumbs are close to the chest.

on this day five years ago I moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts. I have lived here now longer than anywhere else since I left for college at 18, and now @CambMA really feels like my home. I love this city so much.
@CambMA so, in tribute, I am going to spend today tweeting out some of my favorite things about & places in #Cambridge. this feels especially important to do as so much has changed since I moved here in 2014.
@CambMA it is painful to see so many out-of-state big money corporate developers coming into Cambridge & Boston and tearing down historic buildings, kicking out small, local businesses, and putting up the same fugly Lego-looking condos.
