New home sales fell in May, Y/Y & M/M. Theme of the month was sales decline by builder design. Few comments on demand slowing or skittish buyers, even w/new home prices +18% Y/Y nationally (survey record). Builder commentary from across the country per our survey to follow...
#Nashville builder: “Gapped out. Sales resume in June as new communities & phases start to open. By moving ability to contract on inventory homes later to finished drywall stage (window installation stage previously), expect sales to show continued decline. Decline by design.”
#Charlotte builder: “Paused sales from mid-May to mid-June in all communities & will selectively release homes for sale in the last 2 weeks of June & coming months. Sales look lower vs. last month but was capped due to limited lot availability & no inventory.”

Some interesting housing color from mid-April around the country home builder channel check. Bunch of market commentary to follow...will try to hit most top markets.
#SaltLakeCity home builder mid-April color: “Still have 10x buyers to available homes to buy. Went to 'highest/ best' offer system March 1st & offers over asking price are shocking. Most offers are 10+% over ask, that's after raised base prices $10K to $20K+ with each release.”
#Austin home builder mid-April color: “Super high demand. Volume controlled with release process, otherwise would be unbearable. Some price increases are $100K between releases.”

[A Thread]

Although we had planned for an article on our website on this topic in near future but we are making a thread as a Tribute to the legend #DiegoMaradona and his impact on @sscnapoli and #Naples (even though words may not be enough to explain his impact) (1/n)
#DiegoMaradona joined @sscnapoli for a then world record fee from @FCBarcelona in 1984. Swapping the glamour of Barcelona with one of the poorest cities, not only in Italy but in Europe was a decision lamented by many (2/n)
#Maradona's arrival at the San Paolo in 1984 from #FCBarcelona can be seen as the catalyst for Napoli's ultimate success, but it took the club 3 years to win laurels. Diego was the the most important piece of that puzzle (3/n)

Because of the increasing number of corona infections, people in the southern Italian region of Campania, with its capital Naples, have had to wear mouth and nose protection outdoors since Thursday.
The measure will apply until October 4th, said regional president Vincenzo De Luca. Curfew could only be avoided with "responsible behavior" and "extreme discipline", he warned.
For the historic center of the Ligurian capital Genoa, a general mask requirement has been in effect since Wednesday. In all of Italy masks have to be worn in all shops and between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. in busy public places.

Between this and “anarchist jurisdictions” it is obvious that many if not most people in the US know fuck-all about anarchism
I’m writing a book about anarchist feminists and I’ll be sure to include an explainer to debunk the “jurisdictions” etc

The flash mobs in #Italy today who blasted music from windows and balconies in the middle of a lockdown are a beautiful reminder that even in times of social isolation we are social beings h/t @yemi_adeyeye

Magnificent #Naples, a city I have loved visiting many times! Connections and joy during shutdowns/quarantines. #Italy came together at 6pm to blast through social isolation via music and to sing! Forza sempre! #Napoli

In some countries, banging pots and pans from windows/balconies has been a form of communal protest vs curfews and authoritarianism.

I consider this a form of protest vs social isolation. Social distancing might be necessary for our communal health but so are joy and connections

Find ways to stay connected.

Find ways to be joyful.

Find ways to be social even as we are encouraged to practice social distancing for the sake of not just ourselves but for the more vulnerable among us.

AAAAAA #ITA!!! Oh my god! #FIFAWWC #AUSITA
What a game for #ITA making first return to World Cup in 20 years! Wow! This is the ad for the #Azzures we saw in #Naples last week on Italian TV. #FIFAWWC
Great match #AUSITA - we were up on our feet several times. #ITA must work on their offside - those two disallowed goals were painful. #AUS is strong team but methinks they -and many of the pre-game commentators- underestimated the Azzures who more than brought the game #FIFAWWC
