Partition of Undivided Bengal Against the Backdrop of the Partition of India in 1947: Role of Syamaprasad Mookerjee, J. L. Nehru, Britishers and Muslim League

1. Congress again on aggressively foul, fakery-based mispropaganda on Bengal Partition

And likes of Jairam Ramesh et al gnashing teeth that Undivided Bengal got partitioned

As Nehru wanted the Partition of Undivided Bharat w/o the partition of Undivided Bengal
2. Nehru wanted the whole of Undivided Bengal to be annexed to Pakistan while

Bengal Partition helped Hindu Bengalis still exist & not get decimated

That is exactly what disturbs the Nehru lineage of Congress of today

Such feeling of disturbance in likes of Jairam Ramesh gets

What a find!

Very few of us know about the connection btn Netaji Bose & Pune.

The story goes as such:

Netaji was lodged in the Yerawda jail in Pune, between 13th April to 16 May 1936.

During this time, he wrote a couple of letters to Mr. D V Divekar, then editor of Kesari. ImageImageImage
In this letter, Netaji fondly talks of his wish to learn Marathi, read more about the Maratha Empire, and talks about how all the communication of his is monitored / censored!

What a beautiful piece of history which connects Netaji with Pune.
Special thanks to @kunal_tilak for finding this letter. 🙏😊

Leftists are trying to distort Netaji by claiming Bose was a Leftist & was against Savarkar...
Time to debunk their propaganda with real history...
After Subhas Chandra Bose’s escape from Calcutta, Savarkar had issued a statement, “May the gratitude, sympathy and good wishes of
a nation be a source of never-failing solace and inspiration to him. Wherever he happens to be, I have no doubt he will contribute his all, even health and life to the cause of Indian freedom.”

One of the defining moments in this relationship was a three-hour meeting that took
place between Bose and Savarkar on 22 June, 1940. The meeting took place at Savarkar’s residence-Savarkar Sadan in Mumbai. Savarkar’s personal secretary Balarao revealed what had happened in that meeting in a letter dated 2 June 1954: “It may be mentioned here that it was a

#Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on the Ideology of Hindutva

Netaji severely criticized the slogan of ‘Hindu Rashtra’ and said: ‘‘There can be no bigger a lie than saying that the interests of the Hindus and the Muslims are different.
Those who say that the interests of the Hindus and Muslims are not the same actually do not speak the truth.’’

(Address at Rajsahi, 13 April 1928)
‘‘Like all other religions Islam has also a place in India. It is necessary to be acquainted with the traditions, ideals and history of each religion, because mutual cultural familiarity paves the way for communal peace and unity. …

Tributes pour in from all sides for our revered freedom fighter, but #These2Facts is probably never known to many of you.
#Fact1
Gandhi asked Subhash Chandra Bose's family not to perform Shraddh.
He said, he didn't believe in Bose's death, and he stood to his words for
approximately 5 months, later in his magazine, Harijan, Gandhi paid obituary for Bose.

What did Nehru do to Gandhi in those 5 Months?

#Fact2

Nehru's Personal Stenographer Shyamlal Jain had accepted and given in writing to Justice Khosla committee about an Incident happened on
December 26th 1945.
It was around 11 PM and Nehru asked Jain to come to Asaf Ali's house at Daria Ganj in whatever condition he is and with the type writer.
When Jain reached, Nehru placed 2 letters in front of him, & asked to type it's contents..

#VirSavarkar never pleaded for himself but for all.

Big breaking news! New documents in Taiwan archives point to the fact that #Netaji didn’t die in any plane crash.

An investigation report by the Taiwan Police Dept, unearthed by @SauravDangar clearly states that it failed to prove that #Netaji died in the plane crash. @anujdhar
Surprisingly, this report was never brought to the notice of the 3 official inquiries by the Govt of India. Another report by Taiwan’s health department done in the same year also reached similar conclusions.
Although that report was made available to GOI, it wasn’t shared with Justice Mukherjee who investigated #Netaji’s disappearance. Mukherjee found a copy in the British archives (3/n)

What #Savarkar got was not a 'stipend' or 'pension,' as Congress alleged, but an allowance from the British Raj. Others who got such an allowance from the British Raj were the Bose brothers Subhas & Sarat Chandra, Mahatma Gandhi & so many other Indian freedom fighters. A small 🧵
When the #British imprisoned #Indians or held them as detenus or internees, usually in cases where there were no charges & no trials (as when Savarkar was interned in Ratnagiri from 1924 to 1937), they paid a monthly allowance to them for 'loss of income' so they (in terms of..
food etc) and/or their families could maintain themselves. Govt statue allowed them to have money from the public purse for this purpose. When the Raj, in the early 1930s, decided to drastically cut these allowances, Subhas Chandra Bose...

A little-known nugget about Netaji #SubhashChandraBose. At a time when most politicians supported prohibition, he was among the few who opposed the idea. #Netaji #SubhasChandraBose #history
The Bombay Presidency Government under Balasaheb Kher (Congress) had decided to impose prohibition from 1 August 1939. Netaji, who had then had quit as the Congress president, stood by the Parsi community which was opposed to prohibition & criticised the govt for this decision.
However, #MahatmaGandhi was upset at this & issued a statement from Abbotabad (he was touring the NWFP). Earlier #MahatmaPhule had pointed to the adverse social effects of liquor. #LokmanyaTilak had joined forces with Muslims & Christian missionaries to clamp down on liquor vends

They had reduced it to a small Mutiny.

One man, #Savarkar saw it (1857) as “First war of independence,” by writing a book on it which was banned by British before the release.

Drawing inspiration Savarkar always saw infiltration in forced as key to independence.
Revolutionaries always followed the principle as paved by Savarkar.

Finally it was well buttressed by RB Bose, followed by great icing by #Netaji

Certainly the rebellion in Brit forces & INA became major reason for our freedom.
For me it was #Savarkar who had done the Shilanyas of the Grand Plan which resulted in something that we are celebrating today as #AmritMahotsav

We owe so much to him.

You can freely attack #Netaji today because decades back he had sacrificed all he had to see you and us #Free

Thankless self proclaimed intellectuals.
If his delusion about Islam makes you hate him, then you have never come across thing called “nuance” in life.

Even Savarkar believed in Hindu Muslim unity in early days.

The opinions of #Netaji hating folks can only make a case that you are only patriotic if you hate Muslims
It can be easy to comment after decades that #Netaji wanted Communism to thrive, but truth is that he saw Communism (not=) Left

In his views, Left=Anti Imperialism

Too lame to say in internet age of today that Communism=Socialism

#Netaji was clear that #Communism 'll not be adopted in India. He states:

A) Communism today has no sympathy with Nationalism in any form & the Indian movement is a Nationalist movement –a movement for the national liberation of the Indian people.
B) Russia is now on her defensive and has little interest in provoking a world revolution though the Communist International may still endeavor to keep up appearances.
The recent pact between Russia and other capitalist countries and the written or unwritten conditions inherent in such pacts, as also her membership of the League of Nations, have seriously compromised the position of Russia as a revolutionary power.

Who knows had #Netaji seen the phase of #DirectActionDay, how would he have behaved?

Original recording of "Jana Gana Mana" performed by the Radio Symphony Orchestra of Hamburg, Germany, 1942. This was the birth of our National Anthem, thanks to #Netaji

In 1947 we had no National Anthem. In January 1950, a delegation from India attended UN General Assembly in NYC. A member of the delegation carried a record of Jana Gana Mana, which was produced in Singapore by Azad Hind Govt. He handed over this record to the UN Orchestra.

A tale from 2008

I remembered reading somewhere, a long time ago, that Netaji's ashes were kept at some temple in Tokyo. @ArunKrishnan_ and I wanted to visit that place to pay our respects.

Tokyo isn't exactly down the road from this neck of the woods.
Once we decided that we couldn't leave Japan without seeing some Sumo, we made up our minds that we should see Netaji's memorial too.

"Find out where it is," OH said, "and we'll go there this time."

I tried to do this the easiest way possible. I called the Indian Embassy.
The reply I got there has to be preserved for all posterity. On asking where in Tokyo Netaji's ashes were, I was given this answer:
"You can ask the Japan Tourist office."

That was such an undeniably intelligent answer. I mean, I should have thought of it myself.

Such was the charisma of #NetajiSubhashChandraBose that on his call, thousands of people volunteered to fight against the British Raj in no time. Many in the crowd would weep in the wake of his brilliant oratory, the fire of freedom lit in their hearts. ImageImage
2/ Among the many he inspired was 16-YO Saraswathy Rajamani.

When Bose tried to return the jewelry she had donated to her father, an indignant Rajamani replied, “They are not my father’s, they are mine. I gave them to you, & I will not take them back.”
