A few tips on how to #strike:

PART 1: SOCIAL MAPPING

• Keep a list of ALL of your coworkers, with contact (phone, etc.).

• Rank your coworkers from 1-5 on whether they would organize against a strike (1), would be passively against or neutral (2-3), or passive/active support (4-5).
• Also, on this list, take notes on the relationships between coworkers. Try to identify: a) people who will help you organize, and b) "shop leaders"—people who you think other people will listen to.

The stock market soaring today on the promise of potential mass death is peak ghoulish capitalism.

SICKENING

For those who don't get my point:

Trump signaled he's willing to reopen the country even while admitting it will cause illness & death. The futures soared last night and the market is up big (as of this writing) on that news. His goal was to boost stocks and he achieved it.

The question about when to re-open the economy is not un-askable. To ask it is not cruel or evil. It is a vitally important question. Even more important is getting the answer right. We can do it too soon; we can also do it too late.
The goal here is to move from the Chinese model to the South Korean model, as I've been saying for weeks. The question is when we reach a viable tipping point to do that. No metric has yet been provided by the states or federal governments. Creating that metric is top priority.
So stop with the #NotDying4WallStreet bulls***. Nobody wants millions to die to shore up 401(k)s. The question is how to balance the rolling effects of a pandemic about which we have insufficient data with the jobs, savings, and investments of hundreds of millions of people.

My husband just left for his shift in the ICU, working with COVID19 patients.

Please stay home.

This healthcare worker had been dead from coronavirus 12-16 hours when the police discovered her body.

Her 4-year-old child was home alone.

She was 42.

When frontline healthcare workers start getting sick and dying, that means that less experienced healthcare workers have to jump into the breach.

If you don't want to be intubated by someone who has seen one but never done one and certainly couldn't teach one, please stay home.

This is evil. And wrong. And crazy.

First, let's talk about the evil part.

They are so scared of a market crash that they literally want people to die to prevent it. They seem to think it's okay to let people die if they're "grandparents."

It's not okay to let grandparents die. "I was willing to die to save my grandson's portfolio" is not in the range of normal.

Moreover, it's not just older people. This virus, unchecked, can get more deadly. Entire communities could be devastated by illness and death.

When the hospitals are overloaded, what happens to people who are in routine accidents? Let them die too? Because we want to save the stock market?

Deliberately allowing people to die is just evil.

Next, the logic is wrong. Letting the virus spread won't save the economy.

I think this needs to be expressly said:

Do NOT follow the instructions of the government.

Do NOT return to work even if you don’t feel sick.

Do NOT end social distancing even if you can’t stand it anymore.

Do NOT die on behalf of capitalism.

F-That. F-Them. Kiss our ass
If we have to rent strike, general strike whatever has to happen, we will NOT die for oligarchs quarterly profit margin.
This system crashes without our participation.

But they cannot force us to participate at the expense of OUR lives.
