šŸ§µDANIEL CROWLEY - #Notts

Luke Williamsā€™ latest recruit is attacking midfielder Crowley

Heā€™s especially interesting as heā€™s spent much of his career in the Netherlands

Here is a thread on the new man, and what we can expect from him šŸ‘‡ Image
The Key Stats

Age: 25
Height: 5ft9
Last Club: Morecambe
Position: AM (as shown in graphic)

22/23 (League One):
Games: 21
Goals: 2
Assists: 5
1.25 Chances Created per 90
671 passes completed (87% accuracy)
8 tackles won (73% accuracy) Image
The first thing that catches the eye about Crowley is the speed and quickness of his movement. In particular, how quickly heā€™s able to manipulate the ball by shifting his feet

Here he completely takes the defender out of the game, opening the space for a perfectly weighted pass

šŸ§µDavid McGoldrick - #Notts

A thread I wasnā€™t sure Iā€™d be making at the start of the summer. But heā€™s here, and so is the thread!

Here we look at McGoldrickā€™s style, and how he will fit into Luke Williamsā€™ system Image
Youā€™re going to see throughout this thread the immense quality he possesses

But I wanted to start with something else; his work ethic and ability to press

McGoldrick is a tireless worker, one who has the quality to produce when he turns the ball over high up
Iā€™ve seen many people question whether a 35 year old would suit our high intensity. Hopefully these clips will put those fears to bed

He will replace what Ruben provides; an intelligent presser who, once he wins the ball back, has the required ability to produce quality moments

šŸ§µWill Randall - #Notts

Here I look at our second signing of the summer, after his free transfer from Sutton United

Here I look at how he could fit into our side, as well as his style as a player

Welcome to Meadow Lane @Will_Randall7 šŸ¤šŸ–¤ Image
Randall is a direct wide man, one who looks to cut inside and strike at goal. This clip is a perfect example of what he likes to do

He knows exactly what heā€™s trying to do. He backs his man up, waits for the angle to open up, and then takes the chance with frightening speed
He also loves to strike from range. We havenā€™t really had a player who can score from distance since Roberts left (other than Baldwin!)

Again, he cuts inside, slightly further out. His technique is excellent, & what I like that his strikes are often low; makes it harder to save

šŸ§µSensible Transfers: #WorClub

Gateshead are a side I have a lot of time for; they play attractive, attacking football

Here are 5 signings based on YOUR suggestions

Remember to comment your team + 5 positions below šŸ‘‡ Image
GK: Tiernan Brooks

#Notts confirmed today they are looking for another senior keeper, so a full time loan for Brooks is needed

Brooks showed he is a confident keeper, a strong shot stopper and most crucially for the Heed, quality at playing out from the back. A wonderful fit Image
CB: Jack Bodenham

Gateshead need technically proficient defenders, and 23 year old Bodenham is certainly that. He plays plenty of passes out from the back and has strong technique due to his pedigree

Based in the North East and likely to be low cost, it makes sense Image

šŸ§µ Thread time!

Have a look at the most liked tweet this season from each #NationalLeague club šŸ‘‡

I did this back in December, but almost everything has changed since, so it is really interesting to see!

The Magpiesā€™ SM reach isnā€™t huge but they sure did attract a Premier League star to their ground for Non League Day.

Like Aldershot, Barnet have staged a clever reply to comments, which come from Notts County, branding their goal as a ā€œscrappy levellerā€.

A comfortable win for the Magpies. Not as much to analyse but itā€™s great to see a slight shift from the Yeovil game

Credit to Notts and Scunthorpe for the footage
The first goal comes from something I identified in my Yeovil post match thread; the long diagonal. It stretches a low block, creating space for the likes of Castro and Rodrigues as their defence canā€™t shift across. Having a player of Baldwinā€™s quality makes it possible
The finish is also superb - takes it first time and is so cool with it. Quevin is our best striker of the ball, but this is a different technique, and he executes it so well. He also does what we needed to do against Yeovil - shoot first time to catch them out

šŸ†•šŸ§µ Hereā€™s my thread on #Notts v #Blues from Tuesday night

Sorry for the delay in this one, #FM23 has got in the way a bit šŸ˜… lmk below how you want to see the progress of my Notts save šŸ‘‡

Limited footage for this one as Southend acc have less highlights than us!
One thing that Baldwin provides which is such a weapon is his long passing. I know we overused the diagonal to Nemane early on this season, but itā€™s such an effective move, and having Aden back in the side makes it possible to bypass the opposition press with ease
Nemane got quite a bit of criticism online but I thought he was a real threat down the right, and the battle v Bridge was fascinating. Here he gets in behind, causing them all sorts of issues, but itā€™s a shame that Scott couldnā€™t get good contact; his movement was superb

@JayGomezLeathen has done a great job on these! šŸ‘

My FM save content will be coming soon - would people want to see it on here or over on YouTube?

Watch out for FM content coming from @AnalystsBar soon too!
Sam Slocombe
First one up and I think theyā€™ve got it absolutely spot on. Only thing is rushing out, perhaps could be a little higher but thatā€™s only this season so understandable. Love the communication being high and the physicals are accurate too. Great start Image
Brad Young
Canā€™t really comment on this one too much as weā€™ve only seen him against Coalville. Think the Aerial Reach is good as heā€™s absolutely huge altho 6ft3 is not correct; heā€™s way taller than that!! Got great potential in game Image

šŸ†•šŸ§µ hereā€™s my thread for #Notts 4-0 win over #tufc

Sorry that itā€™s later than usual but had a mad busy day!

Image credit goes to Torquay for this one Image
Aaron has this move in the locker, and has used it often recently, and it opens up space for him to drive into. I was also impressed with how Rawlo adapted to that new role to the right of the defence, and how he pushed up into that pocket of space. The cross is good too
Rawlo had a really strong game in his new role, and he pushed into that space really nicely. It compresses the Torquay defence, and is a real tactical tool. Note how Baj is filling in as he pushes up and also the movement of Palmer, who moves into space to make the pass possible

Hereā€™s my thread šŸ§µ of my thoughts on todays #NationalLeague games

Letā€™s start at the top where both #Notts and #WxmAFC won 4-0. Theyā€™re matching each other blow for blow and are both magnificent sides. The argument for 2 automatic promotion places couldnā€™t be stronger
Jeff King and Darren Oldaker are two of the best in the league (both made it into our @notts_stats Team of the First Quarter), and both were on the scoresheet as #Spireites continued their good form

Theyā€™ve had 3 really tough games this week so 7 points from them is very good
I had Dagenham on the group acca, so a 4-1 win wasnā€™t surprising. Wealdstone are really dipping off now, a massive shame. Morias got another 2 goals, such an exciting player to watch

#TheShots have had an unbelievable turnaround; winning away at Dorking is tough, especially 3-0!

šŸ†•šŸ§µ Hereā€™s my thread on #Notts 6-1 win over Wealdstone

A super performance, not as much to analyse here as we dominated and the footage is limited (credit goes to Notts for the footage)

@AaronNemane11 was on šŸ”„
This comes from a misplaced pass from Brinds (more on that later) but the intent from Ruben is so impressive. Itā€™s early and heā€™s already looking to create scoring chances. The positioning from Macca is sublime, allowing him to receive it in a tight space. The finish is šŸ‘Œ
Iā€™m going to ignore the pen as I feel the footage is inconclusive, but again this clip highlights the attacking intent of Ruben, playing yet another pass into a dangerous area. He not only has the vision to see these passes ahead of time, but the technique to execute them

We open with this clip showing the combative side Baj brings to the midfield. He spots the danger, and reacts really well, show how aware he is throughout the game. Iā€™m also impressed with Nemane battling here, and I think LW deserves credit for increasing our intensity
Nemane holds his position really nicely here, making himself available and also giving him great body positioning to cross first time. Langstaffā€™s positioning is also excellent here; between the CB and Full Back, meaning he cannot be picked up to be marked

Here are my #NationalLeague thoughts after todays games

Firstly #Alty are finally coming good, and looking like the side Iā€™ve predicted them to be all season. 3 wins in 4, and getting the rewards for playing the right way. Great to see @MullarkeyToby on the scoresheet, top player
#Spireites have lost 3 on the bounce and must be worries about results. Even starting Kabby didnā€™t help. Huge credit to Eastleigh who continue to have a good season

Maidstone stopped the rot finally with a late equaliser; hope this is a turning point for them
#Iron might have been 3-1 up, but #TheShots did brilliantly to come from behind and rescue a point. Apter is some player for Scunthorpe

A great win for #WeAreTheWood capitalising on a #WeAreBromley slip up. A tough away day too so fair play to Garrardā€™s side

šŸ†•šŸ§µ Hereā€™s my thread for todays 3-2 win away to #Woking

A brilliant professional performance. The 1st half we were second best but still took our chances, and second half we didnā€™t give them a sniff

We still have things to work on but I cannot wait for the next game #Notts
The 2nd goal is a thing of beauty, and is all about the build up in the middle. I touched on this in the week, I feel Scott has such a well rounded game, & he shows it here with the chest down & the finish too. Rubenā€™s pass is technically perfect and great width from Chicks
Cedwyn once again starts a move and also finishes it, and his overall game was so accomplished, and his movement was superb. Macca didnā€™t get a goal in this game but this contribution was as good as; he keeps the ball alive and makes it possible for his partner to tap in

šŸ†•šŸ§µ Hereā€™s my thread on #Notts win over #WxmAFC

A closely fought game and the type of performance we havenā€™t seen from us at this level

All video credit to Notts and Wrexham
This free kick, wow, exceptional. The false run from Palmer that allows Ruben to step back onside just at the right moment, catching them out. The run from Matty down the right, the nutmeg from Ruben. And Macca being in the right place stepping off just enough, and quality finish
We always get Cameron up into the half space, and I was worried we would struggle against a strong side but we didnā€™t. Cameron is such a threat offensively, and the weight of cross is perfect here too. Macca is surprisingly good in the air too; this will bring goals

šŸ†•šŸ§µ Hereā€™s my thread on #Notts 3-1 win over #Alty

A good professional win, and whilst it wasnā€™t our best performance we did play well

We should have the @notts_stats report out around midday tomorrow

All credit to Altrincham for the video on this one Image
Iā€™m starting slightly different this week, highlighting the impressive first start of Tobi Adebayo-Rowling. He was a real threat down that right hand side, and his final delivery was consistently strong. The low hard delivery has been very successful for us this season
TAR keeps a very wide position, just like Nemane does, and in this regard he fit in seamlessly. This clip also shows how Quevin operated in a deeper role, the position I expected him to play in when he was signed. From here heā€™s able to dictate play a lot better

šŸ†•šŸ§µāœļø Hereā€™s my thread on #Notts 3-1 defeat away at Dorking

This game ended our unbeaten start, but there is a lot we canā€™t take away from the game

Video credit to Dorking on this one. A fantastic place to go to, any #NationalLeague fans should deffo make the trip down Image
Letā€™s start with the positives, and this goal from Cedwyn Scott was exactly what we needed. Individual brilliance and a striker grabbing the game by the scruff of the neck. Itā€™s a classic Ced goal; gives the eyes for the far post before smashing it in the near side
This was one of our best passages of play, and Iā€™ve decided to include the full clip then break it down bit by bit. Itā€™s a really pleasing move on so many levels, and on another day this would have been a goal. This is Williams ball at its best; high turnover creating chances

THREAD re #Notts v #gtcc
I have some experience with safety at football having previously been in a number of safety meetings with council, police etc.
I have been reading the minutes of the licencing committee who issue Safety Certificates to Notts and this is my understanding
Notts ground capacity is 20,000 however if it was thought to come even close to this I am sure it would be reduced to about 16k
The away fans stand can hold up to 5775 however there is significant issues with the stand re capacity mostly relating to the size of the concourse which would not meet latest building standards if built today. This means the official capacity is 4400 and if they want to go

Well that was certainly the strangest time of my life: uncovering the truth about the fraudster who took Sven and Sol to Notts County. Do have a listen; Ben and Alice have done a great job. #notts bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0ā€¦
There was plenty more than the podcast covers, mind. Like the attempt to take over a formula-one team (Sauber), which was blocked after I had Bernie Ecclestone on the phone to tell him all about Kingā€™s intentions.
And I canā€™t let it go without saying the worst part of the podcast is hearing the posh prick Paul Fallon chuckling his way through his tales of Kingā€™s frauds he helped facilitate. Fallon was later struck off as a lawyer for being a lying bastard.
