šŸ§µ Thread time!

Have a look at the most liked tweet this season from each #NationalLeague club šŸ‘‡

I did this back in December, but almost everything has changed since, so it is really interesting to see!
24. Maidenhead United

The Magpiesā€™ SM reach isnā€™t huge but they sure did attract a Premier League star to their ground for Non League Day.

#WeAreMaidenhead
23. Barnet
565 likes (130k impressions)
Like Aldershot, Barnet have staged a clever reply to comments, which come from Notts County, branding their goal as a ā€œscrappy levellerā€.

šŽš®š« home, šØš®š« park, through the years. #oafc

šŸ§µ A thread:
The game in the town grew rapidly throughout the early 20th century, as fans filled every nook and cranny.
Many things have changed over the years, but the Main Stand hasnā€™t. The columns of Accrington brick have stood strong for over a century.

šŸ†•šŸ§µA few days ago #oafc added midfielder Mark Shelton to their ranks

At 26 heā€™s just entering his prime, but the Nottingham born lad has plenty of experience at this level already, having won promotion from this division on 2 occasions

Hereā€™s a thread on Oldhamā€™s new signing Image
Shelton is a box to box midfielder, one who contributes to both phases of play. Heā€™s energetic, and often starts moves from the base of midfield, before building through the phases of play. Here he continues his run, providing a foil by making a run to the front post
Hereā€™s another perfect example of Shelton building from the back, being involved in the continuation of play at all stages. He makes strong runs into space, constantly making himself available for passes. His strong physicality allows him to make driving runs

All day this song has been in my head: "Boys in Blue", recorded for Oldham Athletic's League Cup Final appearance in 1990.

From August, at about 2:50pm every other Saturday it will be inflicted upon the National League.

A šŸ§µ on #oafc's sorry plight.

Yesterday #oafc fell out of the Football League, having been, in 1992, 1993 and 1994, in the Premier League.

They lost their 25th match of a lamentable campaign in almost every respect. I've been to 13 of those matches (W2 D3 L8).

Starting with the first match of the season...
After that, an abject performance at Bristol Rovers, a humbling at Premier League Brentford, and the Barrow match, interrupted by one of the many pitch invasions early in the season.

Things were clearly not right. I was on watch 4, L4. Overall W2 D3 L7.

šŸ§µ THREAD ON OLDHAM ATHLETIC #OAFC šŸ§µ

Iā€™ve had an interest in Oldham Athletic over the past couple of years. My business partner and best friend, along with his family, are lifelong Oldham fans, so naturally Iā€™m aware of the problems and unrest at the club. 1/
This has snowballed over the last 12 months (to concern) as the club plummets towards the National League. We donā€™t need to delve too much into the fan/owner relationship to know it is well beyond repair. 2/
My concern is the club will just be passed on from one bad owner to the next, becoming so far removed from the key values that make the club great, that it will eventually meet the same fate as Bury and Macclesfield. 3/

Over the years weā€™ve backed football protests the length and breadth of England & beyond to defend our clubs as community assets. Now itā€™s time to get behind ā¦@killthebill_1ā© #KillTheBill to defend the right to protest so we can keep it up. inews.co.uk/opinion/policiā€¦
In 2017 #ColU fans backed #LOFC fans from the @LOFansTrust to get Becchetti out so #KilltheBill
In 2017 Blackpool fans from @BlackpoolST appeared on Colne Radio when their team played the #ColU and said Oyston Out so #KilltheBill 1/3 Image

Back in early September, I put out a team-by-team prediction for L2 thanks to @WeLoveBettingUK.

Roughly 17/18 games into the season, letā€™s see how good, and bad, my predictions are doing šŸ˜¬

Iā€™ll go from bottom to top of the actual table.
#EFL @d3d4football
24: Southend United (Predicted 24th)
#Blues have had it very tough so far. An embargo limited who could come in as they took 2 points from 11 games.

Recent form though is strong, and itā€™s taken them from well adrift to 1 point from safety. Not writing them off anymore...
#EFL
23: Stevenage (Predicted 21st)
I donā€™t think Iā€™m too far off here. 21st is just 1 point away at the minute.

Have much more faith in this #StevenageFC team than I ever did last year and whilst they lack experience up front, defensively theyā€™ve improved significantly overall.

The Boundary Park version of Spot the Difference is out, except itā€™s with the club accounts after they are republished for 2018. (Still no sign of 2019). The (unaudited) original accounts showed a Ā£5.6m profit, new version shows just a Ā£2m profit #OAFC
The original accounts included Ā£51k of goodwill being written off, new version has no write off.#OAFC
The old version of accounts shows no asset sales, the new version shows property with a cost of Ā£2.9 million being sold. Surely you know whether or not youā€™ve sold a multimillion pound piece of property? #OAFC Old version says assets in June 2017 cost Ā£2.99m but revised is Ā£3.38m

Blitz QA. 1/16 Why have you agreed to do this?
A) because a lot of statements were coming out of the club which were 99.9% untrue
#oafc
Blitz QA. 2/16 Can you explain the history of the club not owning the stadium
A) the club have not owned the stadium since pre-Moore. We bought the club out of admin, then paid for the stadium & the unpaid rent for Ā£4.6 million & brass bank has owned it ever since.
#oafc
Blitz QA. 3/16 What did Lemsagam buy?

A) the club (membership to football league) and a lease meant to pay rent. I think Oldham council own Chapel Road.

Blitz has not owned shares in the club since 2004. Corney owned the club

7/12/19 @pushtheboundary thread. Like last time I'll try and provide some updates #oafc
@dan_taylor12 has just done a quick intro speech. Protest will be leaving in just under 10 mins. Big crowd building in the pub - difficult to estimate at the moment. A few from Leyton Orient are here too and are expected to say a few words outside the stadium #oafc
Not much said by the club but this update has been provided by a BBC journalist #oafc

Right! I've finally had a chance to watch the forum from last night and I've put together some key points so bare with me whilst I put a thread together. I'm simply stating what was said, anything in brackets is my opinion/comment on what was said #oafc
All board members were present, including someone called Shaheed, pardon the spelling. He was described bas "finance director" (there is no mention of his name on company house or club website so I don't know if he is an actual director or simply an advisor) #oafc
An initial comment was made by Barry Owen, who admitted the club had made mistakes and needed to be more transparent (which is interesting, as the fans forum video has now been taken down from YT - which feels like they've shot themselves in the foot) #oafc

AL said the council provided extensive funding to ensure that it was investing in a facility to serve Oldham Atheletic fans and to benefit the Club financially. I googled Oldham council cabinet minutes. Went back to 08/2011. Looked for... #oafc
The land acquisition of the Lancashire Club. The council proposed 3 options.
Do nothing
Acquire the Lancaster Club
Acquire the Lanc Club; re-gear the lease at Chapel Road and pay a Grant to help redevelop BP. They chose option 3. #oafc
Now, that grant was minuted as due to all the work the community trust does. The purchase of the land from the ā€œAmerican investorsā€ is not part of the grant, but it transferred assts from land to cash for the land owners. Reportedly it stopped a legal fight #oafc

Here's a list - via Wyscout's 'Talent Center' - of EFL players born after Aug 1st 1997 who have played over 50% of league mins this season, and are owned by their club, not on loan.

Must say, I thought there'd be more than 21 players...

Hell of an effort from Edmundson! #OAFC
Breakdown by league:
Championship - 9
League One - 5
League Two - 7

Multiple players on the list:
Crewe - 3
Norwich - 2
Here's those who just miss the cut on minutes - many of them will get over 50% by season's end. Two more #NCFC players here.
