Whenever I taught Intro to Lit or American Lit, I did a unit on the #blues. Here's one I always liked playing in class: Hattie Hart's 1934 "I Let My Daddy Do That."
So I play Rory Block's cover of this 1934 song by the great Hattie Hart to college students & I ask them about her sly use of humor to talk about sex & a man in his 40s looks startled & says, "Wait. It's about sex?" #OBoy
